Could anyone confirm that? edvinsma - you should write to the support and send them network diagram + support output files

*) updated WinBox Loader to v2.2.11

1) What was the update (WinBox changelog)
2) MT download page still has 2.2.10

OT - I'd like the link back to the MT home page from the forum. :)

Just applied it to a test server with an active BGP session but only receiving /22 routes and larger and it works just fine.

BGP is broken :(
Completely :(

I have 3 peers... recalculation of routes shows to be broken as well as the update commands...

I disconnect one and i get no recalculations. I connect it again and i get all the routes preferred by that source. To me it looks completely broken...

Just switch to quagga 0.98 ... I do not see why we should go through all this for almost 2 years now...

This one has to be fixed once and for good.. :?

ok, you are the second (!) person with BGP problem. please email support with all details and supout.rif file. it is completely possible that it is a configuration problem

Sorry but a simple config with 3 peers and 4 or 5 filters is impossible to go wrong.
The machine is prod and we have spent enough time messing with upgrades and downgrades for the past year or so. Now I am back on 2.9.39 with the regular hung ups here and there (updates might go wrong sometimes).

You are more than welcome to join the network (through VPN) even get a Longterm dedicated Remote MT wireless node (with as many wireless ifs and peers as you want) in order to develop, test and troubleshoot your router software. I think that 560 wireless ASes (wireless nodes) will be enough for the tests...

We have invited you in the past to do so… and even bought about 100 lics (now we do not exactly know how many they are in our community) at one point in time. To me it’s the only solution and a better one since the supout backwards and forwards game is not bringing any results.

We will be more than glad to have you aboard and collaborate towards a good result…

start porting openbgpd. It's amazingly stable, extremely fast, uses a fraction of the memory and is actively developed. It leaves Quagga in the shadows. Plus it has a BSD license.

It's not... just and because 2.9.39 works and upgrading to 2.9.40 doesn't...

Time to get serious... :)

OpenBGPd and Quagga are both as good and as stable... leaving out some specific versions with bugs...

Any one would do :)

I will arrange a setup just for you… It’s not long since new people have taken over the administration. As far as I know there was a mail which you should have received over a year (maybe) ago.

I will talk to our admin team in order to get a set up ready to go for you.

I believe that useful stuff will come out of this. I am happy to see you are willing to collaborate on this.

I will contact you by mail! Thanks! :D

If 2.9.40 is the problem then OK i will do the upgrade again and post the situation... But i guess thats not the flaming point :) its just a version with a hick up.. :)

It's on its way

We have the same refresh problem described in the previous post. Already send a email to support with the support files but any news about? If the mikrotik support wants ,its possible to provide access to our MKT core backup router to make some tests. Only to describe for the other topic readers:
We are a small PSTN company in Brazil, Mkt its used as core for BGP and all our communication structure between the Huawei Soft-switch (SBC) and users with IP-CEN TREX solution.
The Core delivery 10 mb Internet gateway in 3 peers. And about 6000 phone terminals. VRRP its utilized too.

I left mikrotik for bgp routing.
Using zebra is far superior than mikrotik.

I just built 3 routers today with BGP peerings between each other and ran into total chaos. Downgraded to 2.9.38 and it worked perfectly. Something to do with route selection and routes not getting refreshed, etc... is 2.9.41 available ?

No, distance from my office up to office of MT - 1 km, therefore a package has reached me much more quickly than up to You :D

Today I test the 2.9.41 apparently the refresh bug is solved but the BGP session can’t stay steady... After 2 hours reset...the route table process is absolutely slow. About 1 hour to process 2 peers full table. I think that’s no read yet... Last but not least the table process take all the processor attention I can even generate a support file... I know that’s a kind of “beta” and only post this to help the development team… Please I offer again access to my backup rooter… I really have faith in MK!!!
