My mistake actually... I forgot to add in a 1 day interval duration and reboot command therefore it never gets executed... sigh... thanks a lot for the tips!

Problem fixed. Try version 2.9.39 when it is released.

This happens because the interface gets restarted when a property gets changed. On some nic drivers, the restart is longer/more disruptive than others. Do you have a change-mss rule in 'ip firewall mangle'? If not, then put one in and try values of about 1300 to start.
