Hi All, We have just had a successful trial of an ADSL solution using 2 x 48 Port ADSL2+ DSLAM’s, a RB493, and a Linux FreeRadius AAA server (running Radius manager). The RB493 used in the trial is a spare for our Campus Wireless & so we need to purchase another RouterBoard. So my question is wh...
I did start off with the NTP package as I was going to use it for a NTP server for our wireless network (RoamAD based) which was having issues with connecting to our NTP server but as this post shows could not get it going despite moving to the simple NTP. Basically sequence was: NTP package install...
WTF??
Added NTP package again & rebooted -no diff with either internal or external NTP servers, disabled package & rebooted and now can access the internal NTP server...
Go figure, must have been cos I threatened it with a forum posting...
I can't get NTP client to synchronise, I've tried the both inbuilt and the NTP package. My config is as follows: ETH1 = Public IP & default route ETH2= 192.168.50.0/24 with Hotspot1 & usermanager ETH3= 10.0.0.0/8 for management (I know a /8 is excessive but thats a whole other story :D ) ETH...
Yay! All working, Thanks for the help SurferTim & ashish, after reimaging the RB493 and adding your snippets of info I can now run both remote Active Directory authentication & local Usermanger authentication on different interfaces. I also used http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/AAA_with_Active_...
Sort of... hsprof1 should be talking to the local Radius i.e. Usermanager -I've tried this on 127.0.0.1 & 192.168.54.1 (the IP of eth2) and both work only if radius for hsprof2 is disabled. hsprof2 is talking to a remote IAS Radius server (10.0.1.86). Enabling this seems to break usermanager fun...
Ok, after a week from hell with our phone systems I've been able to get back to this. I can get eth4 with remote radius server OR I can get eth2 with local radius & usermanager working but not both together.. Current config (which only has eth4 with remote radius server working) : /ip hotspot pr...
Thanks guys, I shall hopefully clarify -the first setup worked and did what we wanted for visitors i.e. a hotspot that we could easily add/delete users, web interface & was easy for users to use etc.. Then because it was easy to use the boss wants the student radios to go through the same (curre...
Hi All, We've got a RB493 with an existing hotspot configured to use "usermanager" for authentication (currently used for visitors). Is it possible to add another hotspot to a different interface BUT doing a Raduis check to a Windows 2003 radius server? Steps taken so far (that doesn't wor...
Given the time I'm guessing you have worked this out  , but just for anyone else striking this problem & trolling the forum I had the same issue and it came down to you cannot access the userman page from the interface the hotspot is on. My setup was two ethernet ports, one for the public i...
Thnaks for the help so far -to explain how I've been testing I run constant pings (using PingPlotter) to select private IP's and public IP's on each interface. Before we swap we make sure the selected IP's are responding. We swap the current router (if it could be called that!) out with the RB532. T...
Hi All, I am obviously missing a rule or policy in my setup. I have a 532, running 2.9.43, that is setup as follows: Eth1: 10.255.104.3/24 Eth2: 10.35.1.1/16 & Public IP 123.123.123/28 (example) Eth3: 10.34.1.1/16 & Public IP 12.12.12/29 (example) I have a routes for above plus a "AS&qu...
