Re: NOT TO DO. Weird instalations?

Is there a point to the CD's?

I know, I'm pushing logic and reason into a situation in which they clearly don't exist.

There is no queuing on either one, I know that. I'm not sure what the connection type is, router is in another state. I have a call in with that question and will get back to you as soon as I have an answer.

Re: L2TP Receive Errors

We changed the interfaces to a PPTP client and the error rate went to zero, dropped the MRU and the throughput went up.

May be upstream provider is eating L2TP traffic for some reason?

L2TP Receive Errors

We are getting a lot of Rx errors on one of our L2TP connections. Data still gets through, slowly, but with this many errors and I'm not sure I can to depend on that link. We've traded out patch cables on both ends, just not sure whats going on here. Anybody ever have this kind of problem before? We...

Can water actually get inside the cables, or is it just the connectors I need to worry about? Is just drying out your connectors sufficient or do I need to replace my cables? Water can get inside normal cat5, thats why the outdoor cables have that nice goo inside them. Are you using any surge prote...

Re: Rb433 power off and dont back.

Do they all drop at the same time? Create a Netwatch to email you or log when they go down if your not sure.

I would suggest putting them on separate UPS, just for testing. If that doesn't work you may want to try different PSU.

I wish I could offer more suggestions.

There are lots of reasons why this could be happening, we may need more information about your setup.

Are their any other wireless systems running in the area? You may be competing with another network. Try changing frequencies.

Is this problem caused by upgrading past 3.0 or does it only occur on some boards? I have more than a few of these that don't seem to have this problem, but I don't think any of them are upgraded past 3.0.

I'm interested to see more reports from those that have upgraded to the new BIOS.

On the picture of the RB1000 from the newsletter, it shows a fan vent on the top of the case. Shouldn't that be on the side? If I am tight on rack space is this thing going to melt through my switches? Yes I know, put it on top, but just from a practical design perspective. I've never had a ...

I'm trying to get the number of active connections into a variable with no success.

I have a script that cycles the router when it looses connection with the rest of the world as a band aid patch until I find the real problem. I would like to log the number of active connections before I do so.

We have an ~2mile point to point with good line of sight. We have great signal strength (-50db) and connectivity. The link itself is strong and stable. One point of the connection is on a 150 foot tower that is also used by the local Sheriff departments repeater for their car radio units. The Sherif...
