Re: MSN MESSENGER NOT CONNECTING

You must check your firewall configuration. All the ports used by msn must be opened. This is the list of the ports used by msn: -80 (tcp) : Conversation, games -1863 (tcp): Conversation - 6891-6900 (tcp): files transfers - 6901 (tcp and udp) voice conversation - 443 (tcp): login, password, secure c...

Re: Multi-sector WDS on a tower?

It's ok, it will work.
In doing that you will insure the connectivity between your sites (layer 2).
Then you can make your IP configuration (layer 3).

Re: MAC filtering (access-list)

i don't think that it's possible, you must specify exactley the MAC adress in the Access list.
moreover, it's not a good strategy to do that, coz avery one have your three first bytes will be able to access the Network.

Re: Multi-sector WDS on a tower?

Well I think that you will be in bigg troubles with this configuration: i see that you want to make AP3 in wds wih AP5 and AP6, then you want to make AP5 and AP6 in wds between them, you will make a loop in doing that (AP3--AP5--AP6--AP3). To avoid this loop, don't make AP5 and AP6 in WDS the trafic...

Re: PPTP vpn configuration

When the vpn is estabilished, the remote client got the adress 10.23.53.61 and he can ping the Mikrotik router (10.23.53.254) but it can ping nothing else on the LAN (i don't understand this behaviour)

Re: Problems with PPTP (port blocked)

We use the same solution for monitoring and it works wonderfully.
I think that an ISP has no interest to bloc this port, check the Firewall configuration on your MT router or on your Internet equipement (ADSL router )
good luck
