Re: 802.11n

Hello taduikis ! i understand your problem. the bridge-delay-problems inside ROS stopps your traffic at 30MBit and nstreme is unstable at your configuration. maybe there is another problem at your link... please remember that nstreme sends a lot of polling packets and if there is a problem in the li...

Re: 802.11n

hi taduikis ! you cannot get more than 30MBit, because ROS has a problem inside ... it is not to set-up, it's to fix fom MT ;-) we all have same resultes ... the standard mode and station mode (also on nstreme) cannot push more mbits over the air, because it increases the delay on traffic. you get 2...

Re: 802.11n

YES ! try it ... only this mode works great ! because there is still a packet-handling bug inside the current ROS 4.10 which produces delay on WLAN links if you don't use nstreme and WDS bridge together ... this produced delay at 30-40MBit traffic - which is present on other modes - limits tcp speed...

Re: 802.11n

Hi taduikis ! With nstreme and WDS (both are still necessary !!) and 4.10 you should reach best performace, if you have really free channel and good link quality. Sometimes it is necessary to reduce output power and seperate channels very carefully. But the max-throughput shows you the possible thro...

Re: Wireless link througput guideline versus data rate

Hi Rudy !! It seems that MT has solved our major problems at long last ... ;-) You can use 802.11n NOW with the help and work arround of nstreme and WDS. Only THIS config (at the moment) in combination with 4.9 gives us the performance from which we have ever dreamed ! I can get 90 MBit TCP traffic ...

Re: 802.11n

Hi ! it seems that 4.9 runs on PTP now without "exe's special nstreme optimizations" for data rates. i have configured 2 PTP links, one with RB433AH and one with RB800, R52n at 5GHz, 20MHz and 40MHz. Both links are stable and best throughput. ATTENTION: it seems that 4.9 also handles the d...

I hope 4.7 has included full speed on all modes !

Hi changeip ! The problem should be the packet transport inside MT-OS to the WLAN drivers or via the drivers on all wlan modes except nstreme+WDS... Re: 802.11n

Ok, internal traffic (wlan, wlan) with bandwidth test is not really relevant... real traffic or small packets via the _whole_ devices (lan-wlan-wlan-lan) show the problems. nstreme has better delay time (better packet handling?) but is very unstable at 11n and not really supported. i can only get &qu...

Normis,
Its Ok, and would be great ! But because of EOIP tunnel shows no traffic, it seems to be a routed configuration. Maybe the Problem is the bridging in V4.x ?!? which produces delay ?!? no chance with EOIP or MPLS with bridged traffic on my location ....

Re: 802.11n

Thanks Normis ! But if a link is properly configured, i understand the background, the CCQ is nearly 100%, the link is very stable at 130-270MBit both directions, the bridge goes via MPLS (ap/client), the packet loss on wlan-interface is very very poor, and the delay is 1ms at lower load. It seems g...

Re: 802.11n

Hi ! I can completly support this mind ! fact is, that 11n (i have tested at 5GHz with R52n) doesn't work correctly. I think it is simply the delay time, so we cannot get more TCP traffic. Maybe driver problem or 4.x problem... Test with RB433AH and RB600 with all possible settings show a higher del...

Re: Wireless link througput guideline versus data rate

Hi all ! I think the calculation maybe is correctly, but remember that on one link are many sessions with same rules. So the summary should be able to fill out the available bandwidth. I can also tell that we use _only_ wlan links (802.11a, most nstreme) to our towers where our customers are connect...

its the standard WLAN mode on 3.x. n-streme "repairs" the problem.

outdoor performance problems on standard mode with V3.x PTP

Hi all, we have seen performance problems with RB333, RB433AH, RB600 on standard mode with 3.x (last check was on 3.12). We have a WLAN network with a lot of PTP links which are running different MT hardware and software releases. 1) Some month ago we have changed an RB532 link with 2.9x to RB333 wi...
