Re: Failing Cards

What type of antennas are these cards powering? Have you had any really strong sustained winds lately? Have you had any thunderstorms around the suspect towers? The xr2 was powering a 12dbi omni, 1 8602 was powering a 10dbi omni, 1 8602 was poewring a 12 dbi omni. No strong winds to speak of, and o...

Failing Cards

I've had a problem recently in 3 different APs. Two were using 8602+ cards to broadcast, and the other was using an xr2. The problem is that the cards will broadcast a SSID and it can be read by MikroTik devices, Laptops, etc., but no device can connect to the SSID. Once the card has been replaced t...

Re: how can one work on dhcp on the router board

I assume you want to server dhcp. First make sure the dhcp package is enabled in system>packages Next you must add a pool with the following: ip pool add name=pool1 ranges=10.0.0.2-10.0.0.254 Then configure the dhcp server with the interface you want(i will assume wlan1): ip dhcp-server network add ...

Re: Atheros client re-association problem revisited

I too have been having this re-association problem. When the AP is rebooted, or power is cycled, many clients will not re-associate. AP is 8602+(on 175ft tower) with clients using approx 30% Tranzieos, 30% CB3s, and 40% MikroTik w/r52 cards. The problem began recently when we added a few additional ...

Re: cannot get DHCP running correctly.

are you using some sort of nat masquerading? it is required, sorta, to get access from your pc to sources on the other side of the MT router. check out http://www.mikrotik.com/documentation/rosmE.pdf on page three for more info.

Hotspot Range

I've got to set up a small 5 cabin resort with mikrotik equip with a 802.11 hotspot. The buildings are arranged kinda randomly in a 500ftx250ft rectangle with varying elevations(we live in the hills). I believe this could be done very reliably with only 3 r112, however, I cannot for the life of me f...

Re: Gateway interface unknown

It is enabled. What do you mean by "associated"?
Also, I noticed this morning that even though it will scan I keep getting a "searching for network" message at the bottom of the "Interface<wlan1>" window.

Is there a possibility my wlan card is bad?

Gateway interface unknown

i've got a simple problem using the following config:

ip address add address=172.18.4.253/22 interface=wlan1
ip route add gateway=172.18.4.1

the problem is that the interface for the gateway is unknown instead of wlan1, how do i fix that?

also, i'm using 2.9.38
