OMG..... since September and still the same issue ? I see nothing related to a fix in this direction in the Change-log from ROS 5.20. The support file creation does not finish on the RB1100AHx2, the CPU goes up to 100% for a while and that's it. Still no console at all.

did you have a look at netcat ? would that do the trick for you to listen on the desired UDP port ? i am really interested in a solution that i can rebuild from source for a different architecture as well but i am not the scripting guru or programmer at all.

that email script is cool. i have realized the whole thing in a different way. i have nagios polling the voltage via snmp and give an alarm via email and sms if the voltage is out of normal values. that work fine for me.

how can u give a specific uptime for a user which is signing up and paying by paypal ? all i can do is to specify the credit time, but no uptime. in that case a user has to use all his online time at once and cant decide to logout without loosing his time.

ok, but in many cases i can't use the latest ROS version and need to be able to get the BIOS only or if i don't use ROS at all i still like to get the BIOS somehow. a download page would just be that simple.

i think it depends a bit on the RB model, i can physically disable ethernet interfaces on a RB500 with RB564. it drops the link status and you can also see a reduction in power consumption. that was with ROS 2.9.48 when i did it last. i do not know about other RB's.

to answer all your questions uldis....... the cabinet where the RB600 was located is at 20 - 25 degree Celsius, the other place where it was rebooting was about 10 degree (different mast). the log does not mention the reboot at all. the support file is not created and it happens only if i have traff...

i tried the following:

12V 2A
18V 1A
24V 0.8A
and 2 different branded 48V 0.8A and 1A

i also tried the 48V PS via POE on eth1

well, that is not exactly the reason why we buy hardware from the shelf rather than building our own PC platform with ROS. if i need to modify of the shelf products then they are basically not suitable. i am wondering if that is a problem which is unusual. in case it is unusual i would have the RB60...

thats what we do in the moment, just its in some cases way more than 2 hops away. can you go into more detail what you mean by "it's not a great dns resolver" ? i am open to anything that works and is also possible without putting extra hardware on some towers.

i was thinking about the same solution to have a response from the customers CPE cache very quick or if that cache does not have the information to get it from the next higher level. i have the hope to speed up the dns response time. what is the possible down side ?

well, it worked always with 2.9.x, and i got a reply that there is an issue with that from MT support. i guess i wait and see and hope non of the ros 3.2 or 3.3 boxes need a config restored.
