NetInstallPPC on CF card using X86 PC and card reader

Trying to install ROS for the PPC on a CF card using a card reader on a Windows PC... When I first open Netinstall I can see ALL the ROS versions (including mipsbe, ppc, x86 etc) in the directory. When I click on the Drive Letter in "Routers/Drives" at the top of netinstall it immediately ...

Re: This Stupid RB600 Problem

If it's got a daughter card on it remove the daughter card and put the mini PCI cards right on the RB600. We have a dozen RB600's, previously had problems with the ones that had daughter boards and 4 cards installed, removed the daughter boards at Uldis's suggestion and no more problems.

Re: rb600 make reboot every day

I have an RB 600 with the same problem - it randomly reboots. The log reports that the board was rebooted by the watchdog timer but the timer is not enabled. It has an RB 604 daughterboard with two SR5's, one SR2 and an R52H installed. No cards installed in the RB600 itself. Now running 3.13 and sti...

Rip Cost per interface ?

On 3.7 Is it possible to influence the RIP Costs (Metric) on a per interface basis ? In other words can I advertise the same route out various interfaces with different costs ? So, for example the cost of routes advertised out Ethernet0 is +1 and Ethernet1 is +3 and Wireless0 is +4. I know some othe...

Re: tranzeo cpq drop connections with sr2

Had this problem. Using even the newest CPQ firmware doesn't resolve the issue - fixed it by moving to only TKIP on the AP, and set the AP rekey to 3600 seconds (Tranzeo default). Also hardcoded the AP and the Tranzeo's to B mode. Of the 30 or so Tranzeos that still haven't been replaced across the ...

Re: Packet loss with RB333 & SR5 to NMP8601

This same RB333 has a SR2 on a 15 db VPol omni. Last night I installed two test clients on the SR2. #One is a RB411 with Compex WLM54G in a 15 db Rootenna. Range is about 190 meters to the Omni antenna - it's about 110m from the base of the Tower, so it's basically aiming straight Up. #Two is a WRAP...

Re: Packet loss with RB333 & SR5 to NMP8601

Spent 3 hours working on this link today. The RX/TX CCQ is 90%/75% and it still dropping packets. I don't think this is a link problem. It goes for hours at the same CCQ with 2Mbps load in both directions with no issue, then randomly drops packets. The CCQ remains pretty much the same the whole time...

Re: Odd 532A POE problem

Thanks - I replaced the Pac Wireless Adaptor on the top end too - no change. And the flash only happens when the back end cable is plugged into a Switch... a laptop works fine. Very bizaar. I think I'll run another cable up an use it for Ethernet on another port and the POE can stay on it's own line.

Adding Ethernet cards after installation

We originally installed with 3 Network Interface cards in the MicroTik PC. Now we've installed 2 more interfaces but they don't show up. I assume this is because there's no Kudzoo type process to pickup on hardware changes. Is there something that can be done to force the detection of the new NICs ?...
