Re: Downgrade 3.24 to 3.13

Dear Chapex, I have al my network with RB433AHs with 3.13 software, stable software tested by us. When we'll test a new software version I'll upgrade all my network. In my opinion it is not correct to have different software in the same network. Could you help in telling me if does it exist a RB wit...

Re: Downgrade 3.24 to 3.13

Dear all,
- RB411 is downgradable from 3.24 to 3.13;
- RB433AH is not downgradable from 3.24 to 3.13.

Does it exist a board with 3 miniPCI slots downgradable from 3.24 to 3.13 ?

Re: Downgrade 3.24 to 3.13

Normis, thanks. Technical explanation is clear now. The problem is that in production environment I don't want to install software not already fully tested. So, condering that my boards' load is quite low, if I use RB433 instead of RB433AH can I install 3.13 ? In other words, what AP-boards are full...

Right?

Re: Downgrade 3.24 to 3.13

Normis, I think that it was clear for everyone that the bug is that it is not possible to downgrade from 3.24 to 3.13 using RB433AH. What is a bug for you? Is not a software feature not working? And with your software you declare possible or not possible to make a downgrade? And if this is not worki...

Re: Downgrade 3.24 to 3.13

Dear all,
I think this should be considered a very big bug, of course not for a test environment, but for a production environment.

Is someone working on it ?
Can you give a solution or a workaround to solve it ?

Thanks,
Alessio

Re: Downgrade 3.24 to 3.13

Hello, Roc-noc, I tried to downgrade a RB411 from 3.22 to 3.13 and everything was working fine. The software is the same of the RB433, but the result is completely different! As suggested I took my RB433AH and I changed the CPU frequency from 800Mhz back to 680Mhz ftp-ing the file and pushing the do...

Re: Downgrade 3.24 to 3.13

Dear Normis, dear mrz, After putting 3.13 with netistall the result was: kernel not found and the board never went up. After putting 3.24 with netinstall the board went up soon. So, probably what you don't want to say is that with new software you changed the file system and so it is not possible to...

Re: Downgrade 3.24 to 3.13

Hello, unstable means that if you delete a MAC address by the wireless Access List sometimes it blocks the board, you cannot reach it again and you must power off and power on it to have up the board again. In this situation the board is not reacheable neither by ethernet cable plugged in. I have 10...

Downgrade 3.24 to 3.13

Hello, last routerboards RB433AH I bought, were loaded with 3.24 software. It is a very unstable software, and I would know if is it possible to downgrade to 3.13. I already tried to do so and I get this output: software.jpg What is this? 3.24? 3.13? 3.18,5 ? How can I downgrade to 3.13 ? I cannot t...

Dear all, my customers are continuing growing up. From a design point of view, I decided to not put more than 20 customers on one panel/board (SR5/XR5) because of differently I could have a bandwidth problem and some ricalculation of ack timeout could be wrong if the board is heavy charged. So my pr...

Dear Schnulch, your suggests are really useful for me. Making so, I lost some customer because of the signal was not so good anymore, a...

802.11b limit - CSMA

Hi everyone, 802.11b has a really great limit because it works as a very old hub, with a speed of 11Mb/s for all the customers attached to a single AP. So, without any bandwidth limit, if you have 10 customers all goes ok, if your customers become 25-30 all speeds go down because of collisions becom...

Re: PCQ and global-in, global-out

Hello Faton, you can specify either just global-in, or just global-out or both. For global-in and for global-out you can specify different bandwith and, in general, different everything. So I think that the router use both queues if you specify both. And any packet is queued twice if you match it tw...

Re: RB133c Wireless CPE Auth problem

It was a hardware problem.
The CPE received a very good signal and than It tried to join the network, but the R52H card mounted on it wasn't working good and than the other side didn't receive anything.
So the authentication handshake went in timeout.
