Re: 4.13 Nv2 great but loss of some monitoring parameters?

NV2 is terrible on 5GHz-A, 40MHz channel width. x86 based routers are freezing if using NV2. On some machines, problem with this has been solved by reducing hw-retries value to 7 but still I have some routers which freeze constantly. Can someone post a picture with setting on nv2 links using 40MHz ...

Re: MUM in Australia. Would you come?

Interesting that Byron Bay would be suggested, that'd suit us fine !!! We've built a wireless network with 40 + AP's and hundreds of rural clients all situated on the north coast, our office is in Byron Bay. That being said we'd be more than happy to travel anywhere in Australia or New Zealand for a...

Re: R52Hn strange readings

@zgi Your onto a losing battle, Mikrotik support have now confirmed that the noise level/received signal strength is not reported correctly. They still don't know the exact cause but thinks it's a problem with the Atheros Chipset Drivers. Don't think therefore it's anything to do with your setup bu...

Re: Customize Signup page was not working

We are having exactly the same issue using ROS V4.11 , the pages have been used multiple times for testing the PayPal payment process, and it works exactly as it should.

Except the /umfiles they simply aren't visible with ftp, winbox or terminal.

Has anyone solved this one yet ?

Just purchased it - Would be great to have it show the signal strength of the wireless interface.
Or better yet, having the ability to scan on the wireless interface.

Re: 802.11n wireless link signal strength issues

Worked great during initial testing. I burn in my APs for a bit before I put them out there, so I went to test it later on and signal went from the -50s to the -80s. Swapped the card, never had another problem. We had the exact same problem. We have a 33km link with 433AH (ROS 4.11) and R5H running...

Re: Too frequent problems with R52n (asymetric signal levels)

The R52(H) are know to blow the diversity chips resulting in a Tx/RX difference of about 15-20db. Not having worked with the N version I can't say if this is relevant or not. Only if they are not installed correctly - such as powering on without an antenna connected or not using surge protectors....

Re: Simple QOS, No Limitation

I was playing around with his for a while. I think you need to assign all your queues to be childes of the same parent queue. The parent must have a max-limit, usually your total available bandwidth. It might not the best way to do it but it worked for me. I would like to know if its possible to do ...

Re: OSPF Route Distribution and Fall-over Issues

Hi Eric, we have a similar setup. About 30 AP's loads of P2P Links and OSPF routed throughout our network. We use EOIP to transport PPPoE tunnels back to our boarder router... and frequently have MTU troubles. Seems as if we have to use 1450 for our PPPoE tunnels as EOIP doesn't properly carry 1500....

Re: PPP COUNT to EMAIL

Hi again, would there be any chance that you could help re-write it for 2.9.48 Router OS.

It is our main boarder router and i don't want to upgrade it for a little while yet.

I tested it on our v3 router and it works brilliantly.

Thanks,

Re: PPP COUNT to EMAIL

To query the amount of active ppp sessions on our boarder router, at a 5 min interval,

/ppp active print count-only

Then email us if it the count of those active sessions is below 175.

I do it manually now to check if the network is running and customers online.

Thanks for the help.

PPP COUNT to EMAIL

Hi we have an interesting scenario, we would like to monitor the amount of active ppp sessions and alert us if the count is less than a pre-defined threshold. This would help with monitoring, as we can see if there is network issues without needing to monitor all our access points and individually. ...

Hi,

I'm using 2.9.40
When ever I try to create a user with a download limit of over 4.2 gigabytes it always reverts back to 4294967295 bytes.
Is there a way to specify a download limit of over 4.2 gigabytes.
