They are not weak. Connect to bullet via ssh, and run "top". The are just enaugh for wireless. Mikrotik is suited for more.

I think routerOs is faster.
This is old bug with routeros mastering. I think that mikrotik puts about 1% of time on developing dude. So stick with snmp, like we all did.

I am satisfied with my r52n link. Look at dude graph: chart.png It is a week graph, so it is a bit rounded. Ping is max 100 ms. Serving about 200 users over 1.5 Km. This is longest uptime of our Mikrotik devices. I have been upgrading everything to 3.24, so others have less uptime.
But i couldn't upgrade this one, because it has connection issues. But as a bridge it works fine :)

Hello. I have l2tp server (rb450g v4.1), and client (rb400 v3.30). I have configured l2tp with bridge. Strange thing is that when i get 2.5+2 mbit trafic passing tunnel, procesor ussage is 100% on both ends. Bur i can run bandwidth test 40 megs full duplex and it works fine, but cpu again is 100%. Well i tried using it with l2tp and i don't get as much performance as i want.
You mean there are two tipes of chips, one's that can wortk at 400 and others that can't? Or is this software feature?

I doubt it would work with 6000 filters. It's just a cpu killer.
Better make 60 filters with ranges 1-100, 101-200, 201-300 and so on.
After a week investigate more deeply into most used ranges.

Go with core 2 quad.
You don't need any hardware encryption, that RB1000 offers, and you dont need ROS 6 level, because with 4 level ros you get unlimited vlans.
But be sure your motherbaord is supported.

Well after all without ssh probes dude runs is faster.
And i rarely use ssh. I use rarely winbox ox mac telnet. And in future i am not going to let dude monitor ssh on any of routeboards, because, when i realy need connect to it, i may get that error.

Via nano has hardware encryption support, and is simmilar to atom procesor. Also i think, go with core 2 duo/quad. The channels you configure are the middle frequency of the 20MHz Channel. So 5180 is 5170-5190. When you configure the second channel above you use 5170-5210. When you do not enable the second channel on both devices you stay at 20MHz Channel. So above control and below control settings do add 20 m...

Yes it does. For about 5 years... Those trendnets are good at giving 1 megabit of traffic to users. There is more equipment in that building, but its under something :D

I don't have problems anymore, turned offf ssh cheking on all routerbaords. I only probe linux servers for ssh and other more important stuff.
O don't think it problem with packages, after reboot it works ok, about 20-30 hours.

Can you connecto to boards?
You can unplug poe from adapter to reboot.
You can make some cell phone device attached to power switch, that goes to routerboard, and when you call to that cell phone power switch resets routerbaord. We had this device for old trendnet 210 :).

If you use hotspot and radius on linux system, you probably could make radius do this. Or maybe you even dont need a hotspot, because when you create dhcp server, there is option "Use radius."

It looks like dude's fault, because, when i stoped probing, i can ssh normaly to device. O my custom probe problem. Maybe something with ssh server, because there is no ssh connections in /ip firewall connections.

Susbcriber units (SU) don't have snmp. So it is harder with link monitoring. BTW i have crached few su's, because i monitored telnet on them. O i had to remove that probe.

Also it makes about 500~ connections, most are mikrotik connections, and http, ssh connections. I have lovered time_wait timeout because i had about 3k connections with time_wait state.

I think, its because of diferent times, those probes are called. when you ping something, it returns different values, every time, like 0.5 ms, 0.3 ms, 1.2 ms. So it is random everytime.
I dont think its a bug.
Why do you need 2 probes that do the same thing?

You can see in devices section, routerOs tab all mikortik devices, and if your login is correct, it shows architecture and board type and packages installed. So this is qiute fast way to find and count your boards.

When you double click on wlan1 or wlanx you see PCI info in tab general. I think, its the location of minipci card. Its for example 00:12.0 or 00:13.0 or 00:14.0 in my 433ah. Well i found a solution. Its titan pc case single slot cooler. It blows air into routerboard and cools all system. Just use 12V adapter (from switch or something). Air goes out from lan ports and other side holes. Screws fits perfectly. It just get bigger and noisier and cool. And needs 2 electricit...

errm.. Simply by disabling dude package and rebooting led nowhere. I crashed on "stoping services..." (connected by serial cable) I allready said, that was imposible. I know that i can disable or remove packages, but thats not real control. Better tell me the way to force kill or something.

I had dude database on linux pc, and emualted dude via wine 3.0 beta7. Then exported it to 3,3 router os on 433ah, and it worked. After upgradint router os to beta 8 it reversed every device ip, for example: 172.16.17.100 to 100.17.16.172.
Is this normal?

I left two 450's with speed test on, going 100mbps FD for a night, and they didn't crashed.
But i was thinking to put biger heatsink on its procesor, anyone has done that?

Well its like ether1 port is for internet, and ether2 to ether5 is for nanostation. I down wont that any of nanostation could see any other nanostation.
Its like MTU VLAN in web smar tp-link switches.

I have one simple question, i have rb450 and i want to bridge all port, but i want that every port could see ether1, but for example ether2 could only see ether1, ether3 could only see ether1 and so on. I can't make two bridges with same port.
