Re: Freeradius and MySQL

You need to configure buffered accounting on your FreeRADIUS Server.
It drastically improves the rate at which accounting updates are written to MySQL.

Re: dynamic wireless vlan assignment

Absolutely!

Was just thinking of this today when I stumbled across www.packetfence.org
Then I realised that RouterOS doesn't support it, which really burst my bubble :(

Re: NAT64 and DNS64

I've added NAT64 and DNS64 to the unofficial Feature Request page.

Feel free to add your votes and move it up the list

Re: Routeros v4 upgrade via ssh (ie without winbox)

If you're able to ssh/scp to the Routers, then surely you can Winbox to them?

Re: NAT64 and DNS64

Yes, I know that RouterOS works with IPv6 accessing IPv6 resources, and IPv4 accessing IPv4 resources, and dual-stack. But DNS64 is a helper for NAT64. NAT64 essentially takes IPv6 requests for IPv4 resources, and maps the IPv4 resources into IPv6 space. Then DNS64 assists in this process by taking ...

Re: NAT64 and DNS64

NAT64 is a method of giving IPv6 only clients access to IPv4 resources. http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-bagnulo-behave-nat64-00 There are a few opensource implementations of this, and I've tested http://ecdysis.viagenie.ca/ on a linux gateway, and it works fine. Its only really useful with DNS64, w...

NAT64 and DNS64

Hi,

Is the inclusion of NAT64 and DNS64 support in the Roadmap for RouterOS v5?
I think this would be a great help for ISPs wishing to do a rapid deployment of pure IPv6 without breaking access to IPv4 resources.

Re: BGP to same peer with different update source

Establish BGP peering between peer1-peer3 and peer2-peer3. Thanks for your response. I already have it configured this way, but I omitted it from the picture. I want to have them peering with the 3 Route Reflectors, over each link. I'm having a problem that the prefixes announced by Mikrotik 3 are ...

BGP to same peer with different update source

Hi All, I have a bit of a strange situation here, and I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out. We have a large wireless network, using OSPF for the Linknets and Loopback distribution and BGP for distributing Customer ranges. We also use BGP for peering with other networks. We use Quagga as Ro...

Have you ruled out possible obstructions in your path?
Do you have clear line of sight between the endpoints?

Re: wireless client not connecting

You have your client radio set to station-wds. This will not connect to an ap-bridge.
Change it to station mode.

Re: v3.12 crashing on x86

Don't blame mikrotik for your bad practices.

RouterOS 3.12 is less than 2 days old, and you've gone and installed it on a production system.
You should have done tests.

Re: ROS 3.12 torrent - again with the no seeds

I'm having problems downloading anything.
the All package direct download has a corrupt system npk, and the combined package doesn't install because its corrupt.
and the torrent tracker is returning database errors.

Is something wrong with ROS3.12 that you're trying to stop us from discovering? :)
