guys some of my clients dont have their rwin value on their windows box setup to optimum, i was wondering if mikrotik could intercept and mangle the rwin value.
thanks for that, so there is no way to disable those SNMP fields from being automatically populated? althogh their small when you have thousands of devices it's painful
guys im really sorry i must have explained myself incorrectly.
I'm not doing a discovery at all. i'm adding the device manually but adding the device manually will automatically discover device stats found under the SNMP tab
hi mate, this sound interesting how do i disable those items from being discovered?
i can only get to that screen your clicking on when i click "discover" for a map however this isnt picked up during a discovery it's picked up during adding a new device.
hi guys, i noticed my devices are beign bombarded with snmp probes by simply adding them to the dude, the results of these floods are found by right clicking the device, clicking SNMP tab, and looking at those fields (interface, IP, route) etc how can i disable those fields from being populated (wal...
Hi guys, I'm trying to set this mesh up: non-mesh network A--->Routerboard(10.0.0.1)VLAN1--ethernet-->AP-Station(10.0.2.1)--------Wireless-------->AP(10.0.2.2)--ethernet-------------->Routerboard (10.0.0.2)VLAN1--> non-mesh network B i will add complexity to this mesh once I can get my head around t...
sorry i didnt explain properly, basically im trying to prevent users from assigning themselves an IP manually on their PC which is connected to Mikrotik bypassing the mac-address authentication .
Hi Guys, If i have a desktop-PC which will use a mirkrotik (call it deviceGW) as it's gateway to the internet and that mirktoik is setup to use another routerOS device running user manager (using mac authentication). I have a good idea on how to set this all up, however im curious: a) if the desktop...
If i create 2 simple queues, to give priority to packets to a certain destination, will this mean that all other packets get lower priority (if so what priority??) or do i need to put a catch all at the end to priorise the rest of packets?
im curious if someone could assist me in a simple query, i would like on my rb750, to act as a trunk port (eth1) for certain vlans (2,3,4,5) when connected to another switch and untag all other packets sent across eth1.
i found that the planet wasn't working with the mikrotik (most likely planet fault) with tagged setting so i set port to untagged and all is well with no vlans for management.
ive replaced the planet with a cisco 3500xl and the same thing happens... ive also replaced the mikrotik connection to the planet with a pc and it works fine...
have i missed any steps to configuring 802.1Q on the mikrotik?
Hi Guys, i have a mikrotik 450G (and tried 750) with VLAN 1 on port 2, and an IP allocated to that vlan1. then i connect a switch (namely 'planet'), i setup that switch to use 802.1Q with vlan 1 on the port that the Mikrotik connects to. but when i use the mikrotik and ping the ip of the switch stra...
thats a nice thought however these devices are pinged along with oid results are used to determine stability of device, so that approach wont work as you can't oid query another ip from a function of a different device.
okay im starting to crave this feature more and more, basically when i create a link to a network map it shows three digits: [number of devices] / [numbner of unstable devices] / [number of down devices] can i get an action to occur when either of: [numbner of unstable devices] or [number of down de...
Guys is there a way i can have mikrotik assist in a case where i want stop all effects of RTP/UDP packet loss. Basically the mikrotik will sit between two internet connections and duplicate packets out both, then the recieving end has another two internet connections that recieves the duplicate pack...
I'd like to run dhcp server on routerOS, that will have two ip ranges. one will be given to clients whos mac STARTS WITH XXXXXX (6 characters) and any other client gets an ip from another pool... is this logic possible?
sorry ill explain it a little better, i need to define all the hops that a packet will take e.g. PC -> Mikrotik router -> External -> routerA -> routerB -> PC2 i can ping both external routers and they will pass my packets (but i cannot configure them), they just go threw a third hop which i dont wa...
hi guys does anyone know where i may obtain some documentation on how to create a function, i want to create one that does: nslookup www.mikrotik.com x.x.x.x (x.x.x.x being ip of dns server to use) yes i know a dns probe exists but i need to do this because i want to create two probes and put them i...
very useful reply, but unfortunetly doesnt answer my questions, im basically trying to wait till two devices go down before i get notified... for example, i dns query two dns servers, and i dont want to recieve a notification unless they both go down, not just one. so its like their in a group and u...
Guys im curious if theres a way to create device groups, so say ping fails on one device , i wont be notified, if on both devices (everything in that group) i will be notified?
strangly though the mib OID im using is working in the SNMP test (returning accurate results) but when i try follow its path in the mib tree it doesnt exist, whats going on there?
the device is a network device we had built for us... but im trying to understand the dude side of it
I'm wondering why i am probing using an SNMP OID and getting the correct result but when I use the tools>snmpwalk feature it fails to get anything even the same OID as the one that returns a result in a probe?
Hi guys, all the sudden after working for so long, i cannot remotly connect to the dude. I've noticed that it is not listening on any ports as well (using netstat -a) I've tried rebooting and running the service as "all time" and "as service". that being said, dude is working in ...
Hi guys, I've had a strange issue where the disk space ran out on the dude server, and as a result the dude service had supposingly lost all its data, I have to now login as admin/[nopassword] and I can't see anything that was already there.... I began to assume "the dude" database was los...
