NTP server with 4.16 x86 on server chassis

NOTE: Reported to support, so spare your typing fingers asking. I built up a new server x86 4.16. Set up NTP, first as client to asia.pool.ntp.org and then the server. This is a fresh install. All client Mikrotiks on this NTP server report corrupt packets. If I move them to another subnet and anothe...

Re: Winbox on Linux?

OK, this might be a dumb question, Mikrotik, but why not post the source code, then anyone who wants it for Linux can compile it for their individual Linux package?

If you are already giving it away, why not let us compile it for ourselves?

Thanks!

Re: can 450g handle 300 hotspot user with 30mbps

Hello friend, In theory, at least, the 450G should be able to handle that. CAVEAT If you try to add many firewall rules, L7 filtering and/or mangle, this loads the CPU greatly and you may find yourself bogged down. I use 450Gs with heavy filtering, mangle and L7 rules. The largest group I have on th...

Just for the record: I can't make it work on 4.9 either. :(

4.8 wasn't around long enough to even try.

Has anyone had success with this?

Re: OS 4.7 DHCP

This just never ends, does it? I discovered this problem after I upgraded several models in the field. I have about 50 left where the package is just sitting in the files section waiting for reboot. I think it will stay there until this is resolved. On an RB433 and an RB600A there were no problems. ...

Just for your info:

The same problem occurs on all 17 units with ROS 4.7 and Dude 3.6.

Can someone else please try to replicate this issue on their equipment?

Thanks!

Dude 3.6 with Routerboard RB-450G and ROS 4.6

Hi All, My network uses the RB-450G exclusively, plus a couple of PC-based ROS units. I made a decision the other day to use The Dude on some of these devices as remote Dude servers to monitor the APs and assorted items on there. All of my Mikrotik routerboards and the PCs are running v4.6. I loaded...

CORRIGENDUM After 36 hours (!), the 4.2 NTP clients finally synchonized with the ROS 3.30 server. The error message displayed was that the server was not synchronized. This is the error message for the last unsuccessful attempt. Interesting that the server claims to be synched and all of the 3.30 cl...

Re: Possible driver and NTP issues with ROS 4.2

Thanks for the advice NetworkPro! I checked all the RAM and all tests good. I think more than likely it had to do with the network cards. Are you by chance using either an Intel pro/1000 or Realtek 8139 cards? Are you able to make NTP work with 3.30 as a server and 4.2 as a client? This is really ma...

Well, both of these ethernet cards are mainstream and Mikrotik has had those drivers in there for a long, long time. I see no reason why one would remove them since they are so ubiquitous and popular. I received this strange reply to my supout.rif from Janis: QUOTE: "Hello, We double checked - ...

You know, it's funny you should mention this. Every single damn one of them I have purchased from Flytec USA in Miami Florida has only come with a Level 4 license.
