Re: Listing the routing table via SNMP

I'm having the same problem. I'm trying to monitor my OSPF status by checking the default route. In v4.17: snmpwalk -v2c -c public 172.20.0.1 iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.ip.ipRouteTable.ipRouteEntry.ipRouteNextHop.0.0.0.0 RFC1213-MIB::ipRouteNextHop.0.0.0.0 = IpAddress: 202.168.24.69 v5.4: snmpw...

Re: Too many OSPF interfaces

As for the OSPF network tab, I've only got the /24 for the PPP users, the router's loopback address and a few /28 used for backhaul. So, yes, it's defining every PPPoE interface as an OSPF one, but of type point-to-point (or passive if I include the definition for all-interfaces passive). The proble...

Too many OSPF interfaces

I have an RB1100 running v4.10 acting as a PPPoE server for several apartment blocks. A few days a go a problem crept in where my nightly backup (an export) didn't complete and the router stayed at 100% CPU. I tracked the issue down to the following: There is a /24 for the PPPoE users. I'm using OSP...

Traffic Flow interface names

I've turned on Traffic Flow and sending the flow data to IBM Tivoli Netcool Performance Flow Analyzer. When I look at the data grouped by interface (so I can check my bandwidth usage), the various interfaces show up named as follows: Exporter IP Address, Interface Name, Flow Version 172.20.10.254, 1...

PPPoE/RADIUS - reset accounting session

I've looked at some posts from a couple of years ago but couldn't find anything recent. I'm using several MikroTik routers as PPPoE servers for ethernet connected retail clients at several sites. The routers are configured to use a central RADIUS server for authentication and accounting. To allow fo...

Re: RB750G throughput

There is no QOS at present and about 10 forward chain rules. The rule allowing this data is the first rule in the forward chain. The RB750 is NATting the linux server connection. The rest of the firewall rules are in the input chain and from a post I saw around the place for 'hardening' the routeros...

Re: RB750G throughput

The original test was from a linux server using the 750G as its default gateway, downloading from a server on the other side of the wireless link.

This, to me, would be normal router operation. The question remains, why such a high CPU utilisation on the 750G?

RB750G throughput

I've got an RB750G on the end of a 100Mbit (licensed wireless) link. I tried a http file transfer using wget from a Linux server and obtained a fluctuating throughput of 4-8MB/sec. The CPU Load on the 750G kept hitting 99%. When I try to perform a bandwidth test over the link (TCP receive), I can't ...

Re: ROS not working on IBM server from 3.5 - any news on 3.18?

I've got an IBM x306 (model 8836-I8S). Can boot and install from CD fine but when the server reboots from the HDD I just get the message "Loading" and the server hangs. Tried with both 3.17 and 3.19.

Is it true that *none* of the IBM servers will run ROS?

Re: VRRP on VLAN interface

Thanks for the link. Whilst the page does not say that you cannot use VLAN interfaces, it does not say that it is now allowed. All the examples given only use physical interfaces. Given that VLAN support is a change to the published supported configuration, shouldn't it be explicitly mentioned on th...

VRRP on VLAN interface

Is it still unsupported to run VRRP on a VLAN interface? I have two RB1000's each with 4 VLAN interfaces defined on ether2. I'd like to be able to have a VRRP'd gateway address for each of these VLAN subnets so that the various client servers can have a single default gateway for their subnet. I've ...
