Couple of years? Its taken then 5? years to get down here once!Just thought I'd throw in a question: Should this event (if it goes ahead!) be called "MUM Australia" or "MUM ANZ"?
Perhaps we could alternate every couple of years or so between an AU and NZ city?
Cheers, Mike.
Maybe I am Its late where I amI think you're confusing Hole Punching with ALG (Application Layer Gateway) kernel modules. You dont need hole punching unless the application your attempting to use sends the IP contact info within the packet i.e SIP/RTP/FTP etc
Is there a working implementation of this on Linux or *BSD that we can play with?
Is there an RFC?
Or is this just a Cisco Proprietory thing?
The norm is to hand a /64 to a client, a /96 has the same number of IP's as the entire v4 space including RFC etcIPv6 (i forget where i read this) has enough to give 1500 addresses to each square foot of the surface of the earth.
There's a few things that need to be v6'ed before hotspot can run , Simple queues off the top of my headSo if it was unclear by my previous post: I hereby voice my support of this thread and the request to add IPv6 support to the hotspot.
