OK, thanks.
But what's the answer to Qs 2 and 3?
Are there any special problems, or steps to be taken, in order to bridge two wireless interfaces on the same device? Can it even be done?
Will the board reboot when voltage drops below 28V again or will it stay off until it's physically disconnected and re-powered?just be careful, as over-voltage protection will kick in at ~28V (28V is guaranteed to work)
RouterOS 2.9.50 - the one it came with. What version of ROS are you running? Firmware?
Could you enlarge on this? Is it adviseable/essential to have Tx powers at both ends equal? How can you, when you have a client 1 km distant from the AP and another 10 km away?4. Card power on AP end is higher than client end.
Yes, that's possible. I'll give it a try. Thanks.Perhaps whatever damaged the green lines (lightning, surge, etc) also damaged the RB433 port itself (and/or the PC port).
You need to test the RB port and the PC port with a known-working device temporarily.
Damn well ought to be at the price - Mikrotik R52Hn=NZ$104. Ubiquity XR5=NZ$179.XR5 cards are the most stable cards out there I think.Forgive me if I have some reservation in trying an XR5.
Here, in black and white:Where did you see l2tp keepalive in manual?
Here I can't find any:
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/L2TP
OK, but it looks as though you can only use proxy-arp to 'bridge' one router.Take a look at this:
http://www.mikrotik.com/testdocs/ros/2.9/ip/address.php
Select "Proxy-ARP feature" link.
How do I do that? Can you post a copy of your config to give us a clearer picture of the details of this unit's setup?
But M3P won't work on a tunnel interface.as the links are tunneled you should only needed it on the end points as the devices in the middle don't care as the packet is never really examined as it is encapsulated via the tunnel.
You're right. My mistake. Typo in registered key. (Wipes egg from face.)I am not aware of any versions that can't be licensed (with demo keys) ...
Doesn't seem to be fixed in v3.25 either.there's a problem with memory-for-main xen parameter in RouterOS versions 3.23 and 3.24 - seems like it's simply ignored.
I can give it a go, but wouldn't have thought any particular package affected the term of the Demo licence.install it without the xen package, license it, then install xen ?
I agree that's not the problem - see my later postIt should rewrite MBR. Try to install using latest image (v3.25)
Thought not. Thanks. No, RouterOS will not work on Macintosh.
Ah, that was the secret. Thanks, Toni.Be carefull to sort these new rules apropriatly,
new rules above the default rule of the server itself.
The Air Breeze 200w turbine. What make of Windmill was this?
In other words it can't be done. The PC is running Windows ME (with RASPPPoE available) and the LAN side of the modem is a simple switch, if that. Bridging such a setup is not possible.pppoe is layer2 so you can't route it. You have to use bridge.
Web-proxy?i want to now how to make mikrotik cache the download
thanks
