Yes, CCR1036-12G-4S failing. Unless I'm mistaken, both are single PSU devices. They should use the same power supply.

I think it's a "switch thing" and am able to replicate your error on RB260GSP and Ubiquiti switches. SNMPwalk works fine. As soon as you ask Dude to select a port to monitor, the drop down list is empty.

It would be great if Mikrotik could fix this soon. Very soon...

We have never installed 5.21 on any of our devices. Ever.

All the machines that were updated were updated from 5.20

It's only the RB493Gs that crash. The bootloader is 4.21 on those. It's 4.21 on 5.20 remains 4.21 after upgrading to 5.22

It can't be a bootloader issue. I religiously upgrade the bootloaders to the latest version immediately after upgrading the firmware.

Look at your sql file in a text editor and see if there is anything that looks corrupted, then see if you can manually fix it.

I'm also rolling out 5.20 over hundreds of Routerboards. So far I've only had a problem with one RB750 not restarting. The GSM Commander saved the day as the RB750 is very far from where I am sitting.

That doesn't work for me.

I've tried to right click, but all IO see is "Open Separately".

Pressing DEL or "-" has no reaction whatsoever.

I'm running Dude on a Win2K3 server. The client that connects to it runs on Win7 Pro.

Does anyone have any idea as to why so many RB750s are crashing when I reboot them after uploading the files?

I go -> System - Reboot and some of the routers just go off the air. Some reboot perfectly, but some don't.

RB435G Kernel Failure

I've got a couple of RB435Gs out in the field.

Some of them randomly reboot with "System rebooted because of kernel failure" in the error log.

Any ideas as to what the problem with these items is?

I'm running 5.11 with latest routerboard firmware 2.38

Just my 2 cents, but I would never put a SOHO MT router in a tower. The plastic ethernet you only find in the cheapest ones.
Is the 433GL a SOHO MT router?
Why don't you just go for RB450G ?

What about the high voltage protection. I can see that PB360 -24 has cut off at 31~35 Volts which still means it excceeds the rating by Mikrotik i.e. 10V-30V. I am not keen to use the 12V thing because sometimes cables are too long and i don't want voltage to be an issue.

I don't send PoE up masts. I send a red and a black wire up, then have any PoE injectors as close to the equipment as possible. Solder in an LM7824 on the (+) line between the battery and the POE Injector.

The 485m AC cable is an aside.

Let's get back to the basics.

The problem install has 21m of 10mm cable. DC 15V 10A PSU don't want to drive RB433 so nicely, yet DC 24V 4A PSU drives RB433 very nicely.

To make things more complicated, DC 15C 10A PSU works well on the bench.

That is why we run thick, shielded wires (6mm or 10mm for example)... Tim, I have a site that I own where I take 30A 240V from a substation ( brings 11,000V down to 240V) 485m up the side of a mountain using 25mm shielded cable. I lose exactly one volt between the substation and the battery charger.

We can confirm Dude still loosing SMNP connection to RB250GS devices continously. I'm bringing a new client on board tomorrow who has a 133C with a CM-9.

He doesn't want to spend money on new equipment.
His current WISP won't provide him with the user name and password for the router.

I'm going to have to netinstall.

Do I load 3.3 or 4.11?

we have the same "interface disappearing from SNMP in The Dude" problem with some D-Link switches... maybe, it's kind of The Dude "feature"? =)

It's very smart (hence the S in the name), it always finds out the path where the request came from and replies that way. Basically gateway is not needed. We will update the manual with info on this.

Just to make things a little more interesting, when I use MRTG and PERL to SNMPwalk the switch, interfaces 1 and 5 are there and can be read without any problems.

This could be an issue with Dude.

Just reboot it. In v1.1 reboot after upgrade will happen automatically.

There's a software option on the system tab to reset the configuration.

That's the same as changing an IP address, ie it doesn't work.

493AH does not have voltage monitoring and sdcard support... Unfortunately that's not quite true. The RB493AH has a micoSD slot. It's also possible to monitor the voltage.
