Thanks for the input, however my problem still is there even after downgrading. Basically, if I switch off my Router, my LAN works fine. When the router is on my for some time, the computers stop pinging after a while but still able to connect to the internet well and ping the router well.

If the external traffic can't be explained by your own hotspot then it is possible that your router is being used as a proxy and some other observations seem to support that. If you contact me by email I can take a quick look and kill off the connections.

Monitoring for te past 10mins, I can say 1 per minute. Total is now at 139375. The rx still stays at 2mbps

The rx has still gone back to 2mbps. I tried to block the top random sites that I think do not make much sense of being there but as you can see on the list the sites are so many. If I block the top few sites others keep doing the same. Any general rules that I can implement.

My user profiles are suddenly not taking effect. A queue for the same is created but it does not take effect.
Even if I create a simple queue, it does not take effect.

i was also having this issue and i get resolve it by renaming the interface adapter name like ether1 into Local or Lan (dont rename it like local.... use capital L) ether2 into Wan1 ether3 into Wan3 i dont know what is that but that is the way i mentioned above. or i am putting here my PCC commands...

Since both ISPs have different DNSs, I put one DNS from the 1st ISP and 2nd DNS from 2nd ISP

I have two internet links connected to my RouterOS and I am using ECMP load balancing with masquerade whose instructions I got from the wiki. Connecting two links

I have a wimax link connecting to my router OS on ether1. Public IP 41.72.222.121
Then am using ether2 to connect connect hotspot users.
I want to connect a second link from a different provider also a wimax to ether3 so that I can boost my bandwidth.

Use User Manager, which is a Mikrotik RADIUS server for RouterOS. It supports the concept pf vouchers, which is exactly what you are looking for.
Actually I am a bit new at these things.
Is this User Manager part of the router OS I have or is it a separate entity?
How difficult is it to set it up?

Hi. I am using the hotspot feature for Mikrotik.
I would like to limit all IPs addresses of the pool to a certain limit by default, say 512k.
Then if there are any alterations for certain IPs, lets say a certain user needs 1M or 2m, then I can change it for him.

Reason for putting this up here is that when I bypass my Mikrotik router, it just works fine. ie. If I connect a computer with windows internet sharing as the server, it works fine.
The number of hotspot users are less than 20

I set it up the way you are saying.
When I ping 192.168.10.254, I get a reply.
When I ping 41.220.238.4, it gives me reply from 41.220.228.130, destination host unreachable.
