Re: hotspot + account manager

I had same problem (about error "access denied at this time" ), what work for me was set user-manager router "Time Zone", for example change to "+07:00". This "Time Zone" parameter is out of sync with the router NTP. Sorry for my english.

Re: mikrotik 751u-2hnd + Antenna TQJ-2400-12 dBi.

If you want to activate external antenna, Open tab HT on wireless interface properties, then set HT Chain:
- set chain 0 uncheck, and check chain 1 for tx and rx.
- set antenna mode = antenna-b

Good Luck. :D

I was very happy when I heard about free suprechanel, It's cool. But nothing perfect. I have same problem in RB450, 433UAH but it's running well in 493,433 and 750G. I haven't tried on the other boards yet. I hope Mikrotiks team fix it quickly. Bravo Mikrotik !! :)

Re: Hotspot Hardware

I've ever tried setup hotspot using 411AH, 433 and 433AH using R52. When I use 9 db omni antenna, its be able to covered arround 100 meters. If you want larger covered area you need higher gain of your antenna.

Re: Hotspot Hardware

RB 411 can't build as hotspot. So you need RB411A or higher that you can build as hotspot. For how to make hotspot in mikrotikvyou can visit : http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/How_to_make_a_HotSpot_gateway If you want use usermanager for your hotspot visit : http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/User_Manager/H...

if you use windows, make sure your OS free for viruses, worm and trojan.
if you use linux, try to load winbox using wine via terminal.

I've new RB450G that already installed ROS 3.25 as default ROS and it can't be able to upgrade to level 5. The router already have 8 digit of soft-id and stay in level 4. Then I upgrade ...

Re: RB Instlation

Wow..really, I've never tried about that. as much I know, we need ap brige to make bridge mode. and level RouterOS of RB411 is level 3 as default level. in the winbox mode, level 3 is can't be set as AP. Do you mean RB411A..

Re: Install on Ubuntu Win7 or dual boot

I suggest you use virtual machine software so you dont have to wipe out your hard disk
That's good advice. I have ever tried. it's work. just bridging betwen your virtual machine and real adapter. Then mikrotik in the virtual machine can be accessed from the other computer.

Re: RB Instlation

1. Ithink the gain of your antene would be take effect.
2.RB411 only can be set as Client. So you should use RB433 as AP.
