Re: MAC port lock reset?

So you are saying you restrict learning to a mac but if someone unplugs a device and puts a new one in it just learns the new mac? What would be the point of such a feature? Its stops more than one host from being able to use a switch port. In other words, no adding a switch to your network and exp...

Hi, Sorry in advance if this thread is deemed too old for a reply. I also have this problem where NetXMS can't read the FDB via SNMP. Our senior tech just tabled the topic again this morning. This isn't a bug. Even on a Linux server the result is the same. You set SSHd to reject root logins with passwords but the prompt is still there for accounts that may login with passwords. Its no less secure this way. You can set the SSH service to only permit logins from certain subnets by going to...

The master Ethernet port for your switch is a slave to the software bridge as far as I can understand from your post. To fix DHCP, change DHCP server to run from the bridge interface.

The reason for you not being able to access the UBNTs is that each point to point link is actually a channel in your bond. The switch chips can't have VLANs as slaves so we use bridges instead and enable RSTP. Think of the VLANs as extra interfaces under a physical interface. When it's working, you can torch a VLAN to see the traffic go through while testing your setup.

Good luck.

Re: How do I create a trunk port for vlans across the networ

A few more things, keep it simple. Put your Ubiquity bridges on dedicated ports on the MT because it's easier to torch traffic this way. Assign VLANs to these ports on both sides, make sure the VLAN id's are unique and have a partner on the other side of the bridge. Your bridges should allow broadca...

I create VLANs and assign them to a physical port on the MT. I connect the Ethernet port on the MT to a switch port that is configured to respect tagged traffic. On HP switches for example, my "trunk" port is basically a port that allows incoming tagged traffic from the Mikrotik. The remai...

I can confirm that on my RB711's the ports are cheapish and the break if lifted too high when removing the cable. It's harder in housings where you have to get your finger in between the cable jack and the housing, forcing the jack upwards and off the board.
