Are you using check gateway=ping on your routes? If you are usind dsl modem/router and have the account username/password, you could switch them to bridge mode and ppoe clients on mikrotik, it works better and detects disconnects

If they are sharing their mac address (I think called mac spoofing) then mikrotik cannot distinguish between the two clients. If it is a wired network you will have to use a managed switch that prevents it. That is as far as I know.

Re: Get name of script from inside script

Yes but how will I know if and which of the scripts currently running is the one I want? To be more specific, i don't want the script to start (or exit immediately) if there is another script with the same name already running. Right know I count the number of scripts running and if the number is bi...

Get name of script from inside script

I want to check if a script is already running from within the script. Is there a way to get the name of the script and check if it already running? On the sidenote, when i print script jobs I alway see a script with no name. Does anyone know what it does? [admin@MikroTik] > system script job print ...

Problem with /ip route remove command

As you can see from the script i posted a while back: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=39365 The last command of the script is /ip route remove [find dst-address="$pingip/32"] After some testing I discovered the following: Although the route is removed, the script seems to...

Re: Checking and disabling Gateways

And this is a revised script that checks if the modem is actually present before checking for internet connection #set variables :local pingcount 3 :local pingip [:resolve "sex.com"] :local Gateways "192.168.1.1,192.168.2.254" :local Gateway [:toarray $Gateways] #Setup Log File :...

Re: Checking and disabling Gateways

Thanx! This is the final script #set variables :local pingcount 3 :local pingip [:resolve "sex.com"] :local Gateways "192.168.1.1,192.168.2.254" :local Gateway [:toarray $Gateways] #Setup Log File :if ([/system logging action print count-only where name=GatewaysCheck]=0) do={/sys...

Re: Checking and disabling Gateways

I would have to create three netwatch profiles (each for every gateway) and use three different ip addresses for monitoring each gateway. Then I would have to create a script to route each ip address through each gateway and THEN call the netwatch to check the gateway. Trust me, this is the easiest ...

Re: Checking and disabling Gateways

Because as you can see the gateways are 192.168.1.1, 192.168.2.254 etc which are actually Adsl routers. With check gateway=ping I will only check if the router is turned on, not if it actually has internet.

Checking and disabling Gateways

I have finally created a script for checking and disabling gateways. It is working ok but I want to optimise it a bit. Here is the script. #set variables :local pingcount 3 :local pingip [:resolve "google.com"] :local GatewayA 192.168.1.1 :local GatewayB 192.168.2.254 :local GatewayC 192.1...

Help with script not working

I am trying to create a script for failover with multiple gateways (based on one I found) . This command works: :if ($pingresultA!=0) do={:foreach i in=[/ip route find gateway=$GatewayA] do={/ip route set $i disabled=no}} This one works too (of course only when the result of find gateway=$GatewayA i...

Re: Routing mikrotik's own traffic

I am using Ros 4.4. Sorry for the misunderstanding ICMP is the same in both. The actual configuration is a little big so i don't want to paste it. Ping does support src-address but it doesn't force the ping through the interface the address is assigned on.(at least not in my case) I have also tried ...

Everything works fine, i can disable the web pages I want but a have a small problem. Some web pages refuse to load. If I disable the proxy they load fine. This happens on 2 di...
