Otherwise bridge vlans have no effect.

I'm having the same problem. CSS106 2.4=>2.7 manual upgrade. I was able to upgrade after resetting, as mentioned above, but I reset the config using the 2.4 web interface. (switch is remote). Switch reverts to 192.168.88.1 and then upgrade works. Without a reset, I doubt Mikrotik can fix this, since...

As mentioned above, you need to add switch1-cpu to the vlan definition and egress tag lines for each vlan that needs a routed interface. The switch port that connects to the MT needs to be a trunk port.

tp link looks like vintage Linksys cli, so if the uplink is port 1, perhaps:
int ethernet e1
switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk allowed vlan add myvlanid

I just played around with this (on XP SP3 only) and found browsers handle the words differently. Add to that OS differences and this might take some testing. You can solve the dns issue by making an entry in the static dns for "logoff", but that is only part of the problem. OS: You have to...

vlan 1 is tagged or untagged on your Cisco? It will egress eth1 tagged.

A simple test would be to put an IP on each bridge in the correct subnet and try to access upstream elements.
Ping from Winbox is an easy test.
Then you can confirm the wired portion is correct.

Re: trouble with mangle

In the post I left above is a wiki article with some examples. Also in that wiki are links (at the top) to where you can find the L7 regex expressions and a MT script that imports these into the firewall. I don't know if the script is kept up to date - I doubt it. But it is easy enough to make a PHP...

Re: SwOS version 1.2 released!

Are there plans to make SWOs access via telnet or ssh? I second this request. My wish list is: telnet/ssh text based config that can be read and edited by field techs "winbox-like" interface If it costs $5 more because you have to add some memory, it is worth it. I will spend more than $5...

Re: trouble with mangle

@fewi I never suggested blacklisting was the answer, nor is philosophy. [I think the glass is neither half empty nor half full. You can't measure that precisely] If a network has serious traffic issues, all tools must be considered. Prioritize the protocols that are important. They don't change - HT...

Re: Need Help in winbox

Are you trying to change the default web interface presented by ROS?

You can't, from what I can tell.
But it would be a nice feature.

You could always try to get a metarouter to run a webserver.

Re: Can't get VLAN scenario to work in 1.2

When you say the trunk does not pass transparently, are you referring to vlan tagged traffic destined for the next switch? What traffic is not passing and how do you know? If you have more VLANs downstream than are shown in the VLANs tab you posted, they all need to be config'd in the first switch. ...

Re: Can't get VLAN scenario to work in 1.2

I have gotten a similar config to work properly. Port1.....Port 2.....Port3.....Port4.....Port5 Trunk....Trunk......VLANx....VLANy....VLANz Make sure all the vlans are defined on the VLANs tab and the ports checked in. On the VLAN tab, I have: All ports have VLAN "Strict" For untagged port...

Re: Login page slow loading

All unauthenticated users are going to fall into the queue dynamically created based on the rate-limit values that are set on the Hotspot server profile. If that is set to a very low speed a resource intensive page would load slowly. Are you saying the "Rate Limit (rx/tx)" drop down on th...

Re: SwOS Web interface error

We can give you 30 SwOS licenses :) But you won't be able to use them, because SwOS is free of charge on all RouterBOARD switch products. Don't you mean to say: "You won't be able to use them due to all these problems?" ;) OUCH....that hurts. Seriously, does anyone want me to packet captu...

Re: Netwatch failures

Is there any NAT configured in this setup? No NAT. I manage the switches via vlan30 which is assigned to the RB450G port and has its own bridge with ip address 10.20.2.1/24. The netwatch is set to the local lan address of the switches 10.20.2.x with 10 seconds ping interval, 100ms timeout. Ping tim...

Re: SwOS Web interface error

I suppose I should wait to post until AFTER completing my fact finding...... I did a simple get using a browser to http://<IP>:<PORT>/!dhost.b The switch is behind an RB450G, so I have it dstnat'd. When it works, I get the complete data, when it fails, I can briefly see the data in my browser and th...

Re: SwOS Web interface error

More information... I repeatedly clicked 'Hosts' and then 'Static Hosts' and about 1 out of 10 times I get the 'Hosts' page complete. When it fails, it is not sending all of the data, as the size when failing is 1,607 return bytes and when it works, the size is 1,896 return bytes. Is there a timeout...
