Hello. We have still problems on P2MP links. It is 802.11N with NV2 clients who have ROS 5.9 are most stable then clients with 5.19. Any client when is downgraded to 5.9 - then have good uptime and little disconnect. With 5.18 and 5.19 a lot of problems with disconnect :( Have anybody the same prob...

Mikrotik v5.20 RC1 works.

Hi i have download the v5.20 RC1 and now test it with RB433 ,RB411 ,RB 532, RB511, RB112, RB133c and gues what :-) NV2 works :-) now my uptime on some test sites
the CPE units have benup for 10 Hrs ! that is amazing :-) befor is was 2-10 minutes..

Yes u can fix it! look att the capacitors! if their heds have a bulb on it then remove it ant solder a new one in.

Yes , Thats true, we are now using only the System, Routerboard, wireless and the DHCP pakages. then it works , we even disable the BT test server and SNMP server.
after that we have 4.2 Mb ram left in system memmory.

Hi all Ok, but Mikrotik was delivering the RB133 cards with 3.x on it .... and yes i know the cards are low on CPU and memmory but hey they have to get it to work, But i have now have the cards running with 3.19 for 8 -10 days know with no hassel at all, and we can delivery around 8 Mbits to the cus...

We will now use our tool for puting out scripts on our 200 CPE units that are failing now..
with the above changes. and i hope it will fix the problems.

Some more findings ... and now we have 4.1 Mb ram for use :-) Now we are using only this packages: 2 system 3.19 5 wireless 3.19 6 routerboard 3.19 7 routeros-mipsle 3.19 10 dhcp 3.19 And we disable folowing services: SNMP www under IP services Logging services Btest server I hope this will fix our ...

Yes we used th Dude 3.1 to uppgrade.... i will be posting the Export if i sucess to export it... we have also updated the Bios on the RB 113c and the RB112 to lates version.... Finaly i get out the Export conf. it took 10 min to get it via SSH... XXXXXXX = removed IP and email adresses. # jan/27/200...

We have upgraded from 2.9.51 to 3.19 on our 200 CPE units and now we are in a living hell!. the CPE is stoping some ports like port 25 and so on the only that are working is port 80 ? and this is happing after 4 days the cpu is on 100% and the only solution is to Reboot , its becoming a Dlink :-( So...

Hi!

Check the AC adapter if the voltage drops , im using only (now) 48 Volt 7 Amps or 24 volt 12 amps, and i newer have problems with drop outs. you can check if you lower the output from the radio cards ,then it probably not disconect.

I did a downgrade to 3.0 again and the problem with no traffic was still there ,and tha strange thing was when i was going in to the DNS server and did an apply with the old settings the traffic start to move again.... And before that i was rebooting the RB532 3 times with no sucess.. So it is somth...

Yes i was updating a RB112 that have 3.0 on it to the 3.1 and its now gone :-( so the customer is on the way to pic up a new unit.
So i have to check what gone wrong...this time.

The antennas is Steeladoradus 15 db 2,4 ghz 90 Degree... And that picture is on a silo :-) , but we use the same setup on towers that are 40 meter but the big tube is 2 inch and the smal is 1,5 inch ... and yes i think it moves in the wind, but hey it have ben working now for 3,5 years! without fail...

We use Fiber 100Mbits today for 450 customers ,We have a AS:nr with RIPE and we can alocate 8000 Ip nr:s to our BGP router, And we use MT 5 ghz for backbone and 2,4 Ghz for CPE.

The graph looks kind of odd the signal goes from -58 to -45 db ? that a lot for a solid PtP link
Put on Nstream on it, for the ACK and Polling, and the dip you have down to -85 db is strange.
looks like a big inteferens at that time . is it samte time every night ?

In sweden we us this program http://www.tptest.se the TPtest program is the "Standard" for every ISP her. The only thing we do is to put up a own TPtest server, on our network , And its free and it works :-)

If you use the MMCX connector the right setting for that is antenna-mode=ant-b
its like that on the SR5 anyway...the default is for the UFL conector...

Hi i will have a up/down converter ready soon :-) from 5ghz to 10 ghz.
and i have a custom build combiner /diplexer for 4 diffrent transmitters to one antenna! this is for the 5-6 ghz band. the chanel separation is around 26-30 db. so i hope it will work.

I have today 19 towers and 300 CPE units (RB112) working God!.
The customers ar running VoIP , and it working well, Im using OSPF
with router-test.Npk ,

We are delivering max 8 mbits Tx/Rx to the customers.

Your hardware will give you more then -68 in signal!
I have a link 10 km with 2 parabolic 25 dbi and r52 cards and 5 meter 1/2" Andrew cables, my signal is -49-52 db ! and im running 25 mbits without turbo mode on it.

We have make one utility that can handel unlimeted of host in PHP webpage :-) I can paste in CLI commands to all my CPE units .
to change 300 units takes 1 hour i think.

Beta 5 as AP-Bridge

Today i was testing Beta5 on my RB511 AP-Bridge 2.4 Ghz G only mode and with OSPF enable,with 8 customers on. And i did work great for 20 min then fail, and need reset to come up again, I use Nstream with CDMA Off. The AP was answering pings but no more. This is the same behavior like Beta 3 //Rickard

You can change the firmware in the Turbocell CPE to work wit standard WiFi, I have a lot of the old KN50 CPE , and im trying to put in the CB3 firmware on it :-) so then i can use it anyway :-).

The speed you get is not Ok im running 10 mile (16KM) links with Nstream ON, and i have 20 -25 Mbits :-) with R532 and that is on GN-WI01HT (R52 equal) radio, with 26 Dbi grids, and the signal is -58- -62 db, And yes ve are running VoIP calls to :-)

CSMA/CA backoff option

We tryed this CSMA/CA backoff option tonight in production :-) it was on a RB532 with 15 users. And it gave us litel improvment but i dont know if u have to have it on both AP and CPE ? we had it only on AP side... The big problem was that it was only working for 20 min then it stops working... ping...

Go down to 12-18 volt on the RB532 and power direct from a car battery with an old battery charger without switching tech.
Then it will work. I was disturbing the VHF band in sweden. for a cabel tv company :-)

Hi we had a strange problem.. we have upgrade our Main GW to 2.9.20 and i worked ok for 24 H but today it stop responding on http sites like Google (werrry slow) and Mikrotik.com did not show up at all:-).but Mikrotik.lv worked... but when upgrading to 2.9.21 then everting start working again....:-)...

I think the 2.9.20 is the most stable relase this year :-). I have upgrade 30Ptp links and 30 Ap cells. and everything is running perfect :-)
and tomorow i will uppgrade 150 CPE units to 2.9.20

I Think you will get at least 3-4 km distance. But if you have -76 in noise something is wrong!. i get at the maximum -92 ! and then i have 3 diffrent GSM and 3 G tellcos 4-5 meters away :-) and a 2.4 Ghz WISP ... but they ar running on V-Pol and im running on H-pol sectors 13 dbi.... Yes it will be perfect solution. and when i get my own designed antenna that can handel Both 2.4 ghz 19 dbi and 5.4-5-5.8 ghz 24 dbi in the same antenna :-) , its in development state right now. Then i only have to change the a or b setting on the R52 card.

The main diffrent that im found is that the R52 is sensitive compared to the CM9 . And its handeling the Noise verry good.
We are running on 5.4 Ghz with 26 Dbi Grid antenna and the distance is 10 Km with signal -54/-58. and real trafic is ~ 25 mbits.

It working werry well :-) i have uppgrading 30 ap with the wireless test.npk and it have been working without failure :-)

And the signal is better and the speed. and if im using the MT radio card

but it seems to work :-). im running 2.9.11 Wireless test in my production network :-) and it still works fine.
And the Noise floor is -95 Dbm... and the cpu load is lower...

And finaly it dont disconect the users on AP anymore !! (beefore is was every 10 sek)

Yes it works... we do that on our system but i dont think MT support 2 drives. i use one 120 Gb SATA disk , and that work.
from the Main router we use transparent proxy with parentproxy, to a second box with proxy enabled.

Try to lower down the TX power on the Wlan settings :-) it works!
i have a 9 Km link and i get 8 dBi more signal when i put in 21 as a range on the Atheros 5212 card on one of the sides in the PtP link.
and the signals get equal. on the diffrent sides...

I have the same problem , i have tested running the RB532 card in both 266 Mhz , still the same problem and in 399 Mhz no diffrent.
the board works for one day.. but now when it happens i have only to disable and enable the card then it works for 24 H.

-80 dBm woking well with Nstream on.

I have a lot of customers running with signal -77 dBm with Nstream and they get up to 19 Mbit Real TCP this is with 2.9 RC2
and the client is 2.8.26 on 2.4 Ghz G-only

We have the same problem, My RB532 runns for 22 Hours with 2.4 Ghz b/g and i get the same disconect error but i have the signal -69 to -73. But the 2.9.18 works for 22 hours and the 2.9.19 work for 2 hours. ? But my Wlan card get disabled??? and i have to set upp the Wlan card from scratch again. th...

lots of information. But for me its perfect.

I will show my version of utility for aligning antennas for the enduser, but that one ist based on read SNMP only

I have a strange thing to :-) i have a Atheros 5212 (CM9 Clone) it is a A, B , G card but its shows up in MT only like a B, G card..it will not give me any frequenses on 5 Ghz... i have mailed the support about this.

I wonder how far you can go with the option antenna in the wierless package. The parabolic antenna has 30 dbi and the option version have 23 dbi , have anyone test that ?, and the speed ?
