Re: RB2011 chip switch - Trunk and Hybrid ports

Is it possible to have hybrid vlans on same switch without creating bridge? Bridge causes cpu to be used and that becomes a performance bottleneck really soon, even with 100Mbps speeds only... not to mention if you try to push 1Gbps speeds...

Re: New SXT Lite2 revision (SXT2nDr2 vs SXT2nDr3) ?

For me it is not an issue when we are using Mikrotik devices with stock ROS, but there are lots of us who also use Mikrotik devices to build some custom solutions. For some of them ROS is awesome, but for some we need some custom packages or routing protocols which only OpenWrt offers, and no Metaro...

New SXT Lite2 revision (SXT2nDr2 vs SXT2nDr3) ?

Hi,
just got two new SXT Lite2 devices and noticed in Winbox that it says "SXT 2nD r3" and also on the box after the serial it says "553/r2" vs "547" model that was on device I bought two weeks ago.

What are the changes between SXT2nDr2 and SXT2nDr3 ?

I soldered pads to TX, RX and GND pads on the SXT board and connected it via usb to serial port to my laptop, but there is nothing on serial during the boot or when I enable netboot mode.

Static queue techniques are great on fixed bandwidth links, but are useless on wifi and other type of links that have dynamic bandwidth. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but AFAIK Mikrotik doesn't support any active queue management techniques (AQM) [1], CoDel is AQM type of QoS. Hope that clears a b...
