Thanks for the reply, actually I don't have any arrangement with them, but it shouldn't be like that and I think they have blocked all ports except the one they are using for pptp and ssh, any way I know the guy from the ISP company he is kind a friend of mine.

Mikrotik 5.20 x86 and USB WiFi Dongle

Hi everyone,

I have installed Mikrotik on Virtualbox and I have two interfaces on my computer, LAN and WLAN ( USB Wifi dongle ). I have already internet from LAN but I need to use WLAN ( USB Wifi dongle ) as access point hotspot, how can I do that ?

I am wondering is there a chance to limit a bandwidth to specific MAC Address ? in hotspot IP Bindings there's 3 type of option to deal with MAC Address (Regular, Block, Bypass ) why there is no option to set limit down/up KB to specific MAC Address ?

It doesn't save when I correct the time and date (adjustment of time and date), my mikrotik time and date is not correct I'm changing it but it doesn't save after reboot. I hope you understand this time ?

I doubt you can get SSH and encrypted Winbox passwords easily.
Anyway for paranoid security, it is always possible to setup IPSec/other tunnel access to router and block everything is possible in firewall to protect from guys like ahang :)

Any way user and passwords can be sniffed during users login, I got many user/pass by this method remotely I'm doing a hacking techniques to got user/pass in clear text, even you are not Admin you are normal user you can figure the users credentials, that's why I always say Mikrotik is hackable ! :D

it's "IP Bindings" IP Bindings allows to bypass specific HotSpot clients without any authentication, and also allows to block specific hosts and subnets from HotSpot network, If you want to prevent users to use another one's user/pass you can select Login by MAC in hotspot server profiles.

if you would like to setup AP directly between two interfaces then you have to bridge them (your internet source interface with wlan interface). Don't forget to select "AP-Bridge" mode for wlan.

Where are username and password saved in mikrotik cache, I'm not talking about username/passwords that have already created by admin like hotspot users or pppoe users, I'm saying that if somebody use wrong username/password, how do I know what credentials he is trying to use to login ?
