How to setup a ppp vpn on a RB750G

Hi all

As title suggests I wish to know how I could setup a ppp vpn on a RB750G.

Basically using just TWO interfaces - WAN and a single LAN, for external and internal IPs respectively and be able to connect to the inside network from a remote location through the Internet.

Yes I changed IPs accordingly. Could ping internal interface but could not connect to it with Winbox or IE....seems that after entering those commands the router got isolated and could not accept connections??

Hello again. I followed all of your steps but now I cannot connect to the router anymore :(( Funnily enough I can ping it, and even from Winbox can view it in the list with its MAC address however its not allowing me to get in its configuration....even using Internet explorer....looks like its block...

Is there a way how I could set it to report any hacking attacks on the external interface to a syslog server or better to send e-mails via an smtp?

Only problem I got is that I cant ping to internal hosts when I am connected to the PPTP server.

Hi all I am setting up a 450g to act as a pptp server. Only problem I got is that I cannot ping the gateway interface from a different geographical location on a different ISP. I do not see any problems to use RouterBOARD for VPN server, just choose one of the supported servers, http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Category:Manual (<---- Look for VPN chapter). I changed modem to bridge but now I cant connect to the WWW. I used both 8.35 and 8.48 VCI/VPI settings but no luck. What could I be missing. Its connected like this:

Also how do I make it save changes I do in its config? Or it does save automatically without having the need to copy the config to flash (like cisco ios)?

Hi all just got my mikrotik firewall. Using winbox to configure it by an ethernet cable.
I changed time but when I reboot it, it resets itself to 1970!

How can I make it keep the setting?
