DNS flood answering despite filter rules!

Hi everybody, I would like to share a very strange behavior of filters rules on my router today (RB2011 - ROS 6.1) Yesterday evening I was flooded for some times by dns requests. I was out, so I see it on the graphs and from logs... Today similar things happened, but I was in front of the monitor......

in RouterOS you use /128 addresses similar to /32 addresses in ipv4. That is, if you set up routing and all you want is to add mangement ipv6 address on the router or on the tunnel interface. please check what voltage is at the groove and what data rate is in use.

If data rates are basic and voltage is low, consumption could be that high.

There is a bung in console, when you ping some short ipv6 addresses it thinks that it is MAC address.
Try to ping from winbox.

Today vmware crash again caused by mikrotik routeros (now 4.17). Seems this also doesn't work stable... Really too bad mikrotik seems to doesn't care about vmware environments since most current version also causing crashes in vmware 5.1. Maybe it's a pure vmware issue, if so i hope it will be fixe...

I can assure that is NOT a problem from the IRQ sharing... I removed the interface, but server still reboot... Any answer from MikroTik guys? Any suggestion? Thanks again... just like to tell I think you that the dimensions on the PDF here http://routerboard.com/pdf/377/omnitik-upa-5hnd.pdf are completely wrong.
It says 177x44x44, but on the PDF of the other OmniTIK are 368x125x55mm.

What cards do you have in the machine? I had a i2600 doing the same thing on 5.1, however I stopped the router and change the network adapters in ESXi 4.1.0 from flexible to e1000 (cards I'm using) and the resources went from up near 80-90% down to 20-30%. I had 3 VM with ROS. 2 of them with ROS 4....

x86 - ROS 5.14 randomly crash on VMWare

Hi everybody, I have an x86 machine (on VMWare 4) that sometime crashes. I've already tested different router os version (5.19 too) but with no success. I have another x86 machine working fine with 4.17. Any idea? The only weird thing is this IRQ sharing resources (see image) for 2 ether interfaces....

Personal I haven't done tests, but if you install compatible wireless card, I think you should be able to use NV2 on x86...

on the new box.
Just a note: "export compact" works only from RouterOS 5.12... In case the RB450 has an older version of RouterOS you must update (the new one too, I would suggest...)

poe-out indicating reverse LED order is not ok, however there nothing can be done to fix that as these leds are hard wired thought the PCB. Try setting a network range in the addresses for the community.
We had a similar problem with cacti, until I figured out you had to put something in the addresses option.

maxstel, perhaps one of the pre-release 5.16 version was installed on your router.
Install MikroTik RouterOS 5.17 on both routers and address=0.0.0.0/0 and tls options are available there.

Right after upgrading 4.17 to 5.10 all eoip tunnels between mikrotik routers stop working what's happened, is there any problem between this to versions? i changed it to ipip and its worked.

We use a RB1200 as PPPoE server.
ROS version: 5.8
About 70/80 simple queue simultaneously
No traffic shaping
External radius
A few filter rules

CPU: 30-50%

I don't think it will manage 500 users...

License is always "attached" to the disk. You can move the licence together with the disk - it's the only option. If the hard drive is broken, you can ask for a "replacement key" (it can cost few $) to install it on a new one - but MikroTik can ask you to send them the broken on...

Hi everybody,
we have 2 x86 computer with ROS license 6 on board. We would like to replace both machine with a couple of newest servers.
Question: can I move the license?
Of course the old servers will be dismissed...
