Re: Using Microtik Router as a simple webserver

Why would you want to use your router as a WebServer ? Any server with a WAMP Server would be better than using your router to have an image as an Intranet on your network ...

Just my two cents.

Re: Can we translation (NAT) IPv4 to IPv6 ?

There is a new protocol named NAPT-PT Network Address Port Translation + Protocol Translation but I don't know if Mikrotik support this new protocol but you can find a software that can do this. You can find more information in this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPv6_transition_mechanisms Be...

Re: Multiple wan with Service Port in IP firewall

The easiest thing would be to brigde PPtP with ISP B. You can Mangle packets that come from ISP A just to see if it goes at the right place.

Re: Multiple wan with Service Port in IP firewall

Sorry kenyloveg I thought you wanted to do load balancing with the PPtP. I'll take a look at your setup and I'll give you the keys to get started.

Re: about the web interface

@fewi:
Yes, I know, but I was talking about a specific web browser : Internet Explorer. I've had many problem when trying to connect to specific port under HTTP but maybe it is not fixed. In any way, don't use IE!

Re: about the web interface

But be aware, some browser doesn't support specific port! 8080, 80 and all HTTPS port are ok but if you put a custom one, it may work as it may not.

Re: Multiple wan with Service Port in IP firewall

You will have to do PCC (Per Connection Classifier) so the packets that comes in from WAN1 won't came back on WAN2 et vice versa. Take a lot at this article on the Wiki : http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/PCC It will give you a lot on information on PCC. Ask questions if you don't undertand! Best Regard...

Re: MSN Messenger keeps reconnecting every few minutes

Have you read this article in the Wiki ? http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Drop_IM_Using_L7 This is where it all began! Use this with Layer7 and it will work pretty well. I got no problem with this at all. If you can understand how it works, then you will be able to filter almost anything on your networ...

Re: MSN Messenger keeps reconnecting every few minutes

Hi gerequi,

Can you post your Layer7 regex please? I think that this could be your problem because I've done the same with a RB450 and I got no problem at all.

Re: Suspecting MTU problem with POP

For your information, I got two WAN IN (Telus and Videotron). I understand the denominator/remainder thing but I don't know why I should select the "both-addresses-and-ports" ? Would my rules look like this ? add action=mark-connection chain=prerouting comment="Per Connection Classifi...

Re: Suspecting MTU problem with POP

So, this morning no more email were coming in so I disble 4 of my rules for the PCC and it started to work again. So here is a screenshot of my Mangle Rules in my Mikrotik. Is there anything that could be missing ? Because, everything else is working.

Suspecting MTU problem with POP

Hey guys, I got a problem and I wanted to have your advices. I got a Mikrotik RB1000 and last night I enabled the PCC. I don't know if it has any link to this but, in some distant offices and even some local hosted server (just to test), we can't POP email. One interface seems ok and the other doesn...
