Slow traffic via basic L2TP tunnel

I have Fiber at home (via PPPoE) on a 200mbps plan and a Server hosted at a DC (Ethernet Assigned IP) on a 1Gb plan. I have been getting very slow speeds so tried routing all traffic (0.0.0.0/0) through the tunnel to browse and test. I'm assuming that a fragment issue or something. Try loading a pag...

Re: Multiple IF Statement match and action accordingly

That script doesn't appear to be working, no "Xbox found" or "Xbox missing" If I comment your nested if statement it works; so same result as mine. I know with my script the else wasn't working either, it wouldn't give me the "Xbox Missing". Second issue with my script,...

Re: Multiple IF Statement match and action accordingly

I'm trying something similar, is a nested if statement within a do possible? :global sentfound :global sentmissing :local macfound [/ip dhcp-server lease get [find comment="XBOX - 30c Snowmass" status=bound]] :if ($macfound != "") do={ # :if ($sentfound == 0) do { :log info "...

Notify of device bound or not

Hi, I'm trying to monitor a device (Xbox) in a short term rental, I want to know if its been removed from the network and be notified. Unfortunately I cannot use net watch as the device stays offline and comes online briefly to re-bind to DHCP then goes offline again. I'm trying to use the binder IP...

Re: bridge ports break if one of the MT's get rebooted

Looking closer, the device that causes the bridge to go down is on Ether9, if I look at my bridge >> ports and look at ether9, the interface is port1. Reading further, the lower the port number the higher the priority as a root port, so I suspect this dumb device acting as a switch extension is acti...

bridge ports break if one of the MT's get rebooted

Hi, I have about a main mikrotik and then 5 mikrotiks in the office connected to eth2,3,4,5,6 and a fibre connection going to our ISP on eth1. On the 5 ports (eth2,3,4,5,6) I have 3 VLANs: vlan100-Voice vlan600-Data vlan700-PPPoE For the vlan700-PPPoE I have eth1 (our fibre) bridged and then a PPPoE...

Re: SFP module

We have just installed our first RB2011LS and installed a SFP that New Zealand operator Chorus provides with all their "HSNS" (Fibre) products. Unfortunately the circuit doesn't stand up, MT says "Link up (speed 0M, full duplex). We have tried hard setting the speed to 100mb full dupl...

Re: How to Bypass Hotspot Usage Counters for Specific Subnet

Heya, Did you ever get this to work? I use hotspot to manage an apartment block where people buy internet from us for 30 days and chose how much data they want. The issue comes when someone wants a phone service and I add a ATA device behind their router, if they aren't authenticated everything is f...

Mangle rules / queues & CPU, how to do it better

Hey guys, I have a set of rules as shown below. These are working fine with cpu averaging between 20-55% with 40-80Mbps throughput; and I'm hoping there is possibly a better way of doing it. I currently have 3 sets of queues, business users, residential users & unlimited users I've been reading ...

Re: RB800 with r52hn 1way voip

Hey guys, I thought I'd post an update as we have just finally discovered the error. It seems when the combination of the r52hn in a rb800 with a ubiquity nano station as client and configured with either WPA or WPA2 voip doesnt work properly, we have since gone back to wep2 and all is functioning c...

RB800 with r52hn 1way voip

Hi, We've recently deployed a number of RB800's with R52HN radio cards and have run into a problem with some devices not being able to do SIP registration and the ones that do register get one way voice. We have setup a test lab mirroring what is in the live network, connected a device to the r52hn ...

Re: Wireless Bridge Slow Bandwith

Do you still have this problem? We have the same problem and I'm starting to believe mikrotiks don't like bridge mode as this can be the only thing I can think of that may slow things down. Network as such Provider - Laptop (80mbps down, 75mbs up) Provider - Mikrotik - laptop (50mbps up, 22mbps down...

Re: RB1100 Manual Q.

Hi, I'm wondering how many packets per second a RB750G, 450G and 1100 can handle while doing layer7 traffic classing. We are using the rules located at http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Basic_traffic_shaping_based_on_layer-7_protocols and currently have a RB750G sitting between 2 routers in bridge mode ...

Mangle and L7 priority based on customer IPs

Hi, I am currently using the mangle rules and queue trees from http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Basic_traffic_shaping_based_on_layer-7_protocols I have added additional rules to try and prioritize traffic based on customer type, residential, business, etc add burst-limit=12M burst-threshold=0 burst-tim...

QoS - Simple queue using QoS settings from Queue Tree

Hi, I have a scenario where I have the following setup for simple queues: 10mb dedicated - Client1 5mb pool A- client2, client3, client4, client5, client6 5mb pool B- client7, client8, client9, client10, client11 This simple queue is working just fine, however I'm now wanting to give VoIP priority i...
