Re: LHGs - failing to receive LTE IP

RouterOS or RouterBOARD updates did not resolve this, it was a PICNIC error (Problem In Chair Not in Computer). It transpires after quite a few hours digging deep, that Lyca is happy with the APN IP Type being set to Auto, BUT EE is most certainly not. Changing the IP Type to IPv4 for all APNs resol...

Re: LHG(G) - secondary CA B3 band auto re-connect

The AT chatter is directly correlated to the secondary CA, hence it stops after the cell goes off-line. A simple scheduled script to disable / re-enable the LTE should do it, and quickly in comparison to full reboot (that takes longer than my YouTube buffer). Thanks to Mikrotik Support for assisting...

Re: LHG(G) - secondary CA B3 band auto re-connect

After an evening / morning of investigation, it appears EE disable the secondary B3 cell overnight (power saving?) and sadly the modem doesn't renegotiate the link (CA) at any point after. Here's the sequence of events: 1. On initial connection, LTE6 negotiates primary B3 & secondary B3 CA 2, At...

Re: LHG(G) - secondary CA B3 band auto re-connect

AT command chatter stops regularly just after midnight and CA drops the secondary B3 channel, although I'm not sure if linked (I'll have to stay up to check!). Others on different forums have mentioned CA should renegotiate based on aggregate load, however I see no sign in the LTE logs of this under...

Thanks Amm0

Not tested yet, got tomorrow lined up for that.

Spotted the RoyterBOARD auto update, but wouldn't that lift the firmware revision ahead of RouterOS, is that an acceptable config and good practice? I've seen others enable thi,s but am unsure.

I'm clearly new to CLI, however why can't I get this simple command to execute without error? /interface lte info lte1 once 'bad command name info (line 1 column 16)' It's all over the Mikrotik docs and interwebs. Then, (nuub should FTFM), realised one should update RouterBOARD/BOOT firmware to match RouterOS version 8) :D

LHG(G) - secondary CA B3 band auto re-connect

Hi all Router OS v7.12 I note one of my CA B3 drops occasionally and the LTE modem doesn't auto re-negotiate to bring this secondary channel back on-line. I disagree, if Mikrotik place a tick box in Quick Set (it's not labelled Quick Start, never to be used again) then it should function as intended, for setting things quickly (even the manual doesn't indicate once only), and not with random consequences - or at least a warning should be displayed. I'm just of opinion that congestion is what kills you, Indeed that's the biggest issue when it comes to mobile broadband performance. I'd listen to mkx on the RF. While I don't know Quectel's logic, the CA modes available are linked to MIMO configuration (and RI)... on Sierra and Telit modems, cutting off two antenna reduce the availability of some CA modes (so imagine be same on Quectel). From RF point of view, CA modems will have multiple transmitters, each covering certain frequency band range. Hence set of supported CA combinations. E.g. if one radio covers both B3 and B1 ... 1800 and 2100 bands ... then B1+B3 CA combination is not supported. If second radio covers B8+B20+B68 (90...

Good point re informing the modem of the MIMO config, ie...
