I really dont want the WAP to do the NAT, for the reason i want the HAp inside the coach to be the main routing device. It will have multiple ways to grab internet, the WAP is just one of them. The others are LTE, a plain ethernet to a port at my place, or via the USB port. If i do keep it as is but...

I think the question you should ask is why do you need somthing so fast? I have several datacenters, with around 100 random servers each, pulling 100 M/bit steady...each on a $500 ccr. Super fast, no complaints. CPU on the mikrotiks never breaks 50%. So unless your doing several Gb's / sec.....i can...

FYI guys, got this all setup and working. And it was simple....mikrotik style =)

I LOVE mikrotik router's!

About the only complicated thing to setup in them is setting up an IPSec VPN....but thats complex no matter what device you try to set one up on.

I would say the same thing, but im not trying to go distance...just 30-50 feet around the RV, and just with 5ghz. Would it be permissable to route the wire from one antenna to an external antenna and leave the other inside the RV? Or does the mikrotik need both in the same spot (For MiMo or similar)...

I really need a way to turn on and off ports via SNMP, since this is how our billing system turns customers on and off when their bill isnt paid..... Upgaded the 2 1100's to 5.7 (They were at 5.4). So far so good, they are seeing both borders....

We will see if this keeps up -))

Well, currently its taking the "xxx.xxx.xxx.2" route, and the cost of that is "1". I cant really test dropping that till Thursday when ill be at the site in NY......will let you know then.

This is one of those "works sometimes then stops working" things. Basically, have 2 border routers (ciscos) talking OSPF with my cores (Mikrotik's)..... The mikrotiks see the OSPF routes to 0.0.0.0 from both borders in LSA at all times, and when you look at the LSA details for each EVERYTH...

So you run the tik OS off the HD? Thats the one thing I dont like. Even though newer HD's rarely fail, I would feel better running off some sort of solid state media.

I think I solved the problem. Something kept bothering me about the forwarding address being in one but not the other. Ahh, got ya. Any idea on how to allow the mikrotik to accept 2 default routes...i.e. my borders are both advertising a default but the OSPF on the mikrotik seems to just use one, i was hoping i could get both to pop in there....

Or do I need to use 'mangle" to accomplish this?

Of course, after hours of work trying to figure it out....i post, then 10 mins later I get it. For anyone else that has this problem, its as simple as adding a binding:

Just add the MAC and the address of the unit....leave to address blank.

That should do it.

Well, u guys make me feel more confident at least. I have a 1.5 mile link in NY im going to be setting up next week that im worried about, sure makes me feel better when u guys are complaining about issues going 26 miles! lol!!!

Got cha. Read the wiki just now. So all the posts i read to that refer to "chains" are refering to a single antenna vs dual antenna's?

Didnt get the cards yet, just noticed the dual connectors. Ok, so with the N cards what is the purpose of the dual connectors? I assume for using 2 antenna's (One for transmit one for recieve)? Or is it possible to aim one antenna one direction for coverage of one area and aim the other another dire...
