My Personal opinion is that Ver 6 is a beta version.
To get an answer on the successful implementation is a little far fetch.
In short if you need a working system with some bugs 5.26 is good if you need to get involved with the beta testing of version 6.X then version 6.X is the one you should use.

Because we are a bunch of rats :lol:

Just had a server (386) crashing no watch dog software can recover it.
We also had other mikrotik devices ( 433ah) crashing and we had to drive to reset it.
Watch dog is simply a peace of junk

We have quite a few of these 386 systems. And not 1 is loading slowly.
All are very nippy and fast.
Then a gain we are not using MS we are using MAC

Simply not enough memory.
If I do not use the pppoe then it is fine else when using pppoe and no dhcp ... then the CPU usage is between 60 - 100% with no wifi traffic flowing.

I converted some of my 386 devices to 6.5.
I only use AP, Routing, Radius, PPPOE-Server (pap & chap) and Wireless on these devices.
So far so good.
In my case the normal stuff is working well.

I run between 4 - 6 radios on a dual core 3GHz and so far so good.

Do you know how old this list is? Some of these boards are obsolete. The new generation Asrocks etc have PCIe "3" The old boards no longer available. It is not the PCI I am trying to get to work but the PCIe . Some of the boards in the list does not even have PCIe. Thanks for you response.

I tried version 6.X
It simply crashes on 386 using PCIe. When I then went back to 5.26 it was a lot better.
With PCI slots becoming less and les PCIe is very important.
I reported it +/- 4 weeks ago and the response on the ticket from Mikrotik is not so good

OK, 4.17 is best to use even 5X is eating up cpu. Thanks we did remove mpls ... but version 5 still killed the cpu. Nope nothing.

It is on a work bench with only ethernet port connected to it.
Cant see internet as it is on ip 192... ethernet is on ip 10...
Only winbox connected to it.

133C upgrade

I upgraded the bios to the latest version. We have ver 5.25 installed and the cpu runs @ 90 - 100%.

When looking at the profile we see the flash is using 65 - 85% cpu usage.

Any ideas on this?

which other users? routing crash was fixed after v4.13, as the "other user" beccara confirmed. I know of no routing crashes, and we have no such reports in support.

Normis we also are having problems with ospf . We simply disabled it and are no longer using it.

That is 100% correct.
All out going traffic gets natted to 41.168.6.68
The incoming traffic get routed to the clients cpe.
Currently I have 62 ip's with another 1024 on the way

Did not think of the posting place thanks . I am trying to route the 41.168.6.X ip's to the wireless network. Router 1 is connected to internet and router 2 10.0.0.2 connected to wifi and fiber network. The ip 41.168.6.84 reaches ether 1 but does not leave on ether2 or arrive at router 2 on ip 10.0....

This card take 2,1A@3,3V if you stack them you make many heat in very small place. You need just additional fan system.

I believe it is a software bug on the ppoe of the mikrotik.

It appears that you can not connect remote routers with ppoe and local ppoes of the "master" router via the same sector. THe masdter router seems to pass ppoe to the remote router.

Be careful upgrading to 4.0b4. I lost a link doing this. Appears to be something to do with noise immunity. Others have had similar problems. When I can get the far side and shut that off, I'll post whether that fixed it. Link comes up for only a second or so then gets lost.
