Re: v5.13 released

I have rolled out 5.13 on a bunch of 433 routerboards and have not seen the eth port flapping issue yet, However I use the Dude which is constantly sending icmp traffic. Am I right in saying you guys are only seeing this when there is no traffic I can confirm the problem on two RB750; once logged i...

Re: v5.6 released

Yes, now you have to set server's IP address (not DNS name) when creating certificate.

SSTP is not harder to use, it is just an additional security feature.
It's pretty much an industry standard to use domain names, how exactly is this a 'feature'?
Because nameservers cannot be trusted.

Re: RouterOS 5.5 Released

and considering release - you should definitely use 5.5 if you are using webfig - encryption of session even over http, and login page changed solving a lot of login problems. Hi Janisk. This is a matter that has bugged me since 5.5 was announced a week ago: how does encryption over http work? http...

Re: My thoughts for v6

Good ideas but, in my humble opinion, this post would fit better on the beta forum. I fear these good advices will be lost in a few months if this post remains on the general forum.

Re: RB750 Keep Rebooting - Please Urgent

I have downgraded to 4.17 and I think the problem somehow gone. it's been hours without any reboot, so I'll just have to wait little longer to truly confirm it's software issue. I hope it's software, and please don't scary me by saying hardware Scarying you was not my goal, really. If you hav...

Re: RB750 Keep Rebooting - Please Urgent

Try 5.4. It's supposed to be fixed in that. Otherwise the latest 4.x is 4.17, and it works great on my RB750G at home. Don't see anything about this problem on the changelogs for 5.3 and 5.4---only the port flapping issue affecting RB400 series routers is documented. If it is a software problem dow...

Hi, I just updated my router. This is just a 'cosmetic' thing. When connecting to WebFig v5.3 and clicking on New Terminal. I'm getting a message like: Firefox prevented this site from opening XX pop-up windows. XX is incrementing every half of a second. In Firefox, if I go to settings and click on...

Re: Downgrade the firmware

That is the answer to my question. The problem was with the firmware 2.29. Now I downgraded to 2.27 and it works very well. I suggest other users to stay away with 2.29 I am glad to know that a firmware downgrade is a valid workaround to your problem. Did you have a chance to get a support output f...

Re: Downgrade the firmware

Never did a firmware downgrade on a RouterBOARD so these steps may not work at all. My first though would be backing ROS configuration up, downgrading ROS to a version that comes with firmware 2.28 (a not so old ROS 4.x should do the trick), downgrade the firmware (Will "/system routerboard upg...

I haven't made that mistake yet. Shouldn't a power injector check that anything connected to it is really a POE device before providing power to it?

Re: rsa key support in ssh?

Hello vladoboss. DSA is a better choice than RSA; I would suggest using DSA where possible. On january 24 we released OpenSSH 5.7, that includes support for ECDSA (Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm). ECDSA performs better than DSA, as it uses a much shorter key while having an equivalent sy...

I've downgraded from v5rc6 to v4.16 and now I get this error when ssh-ing into the system: " Protocol major versions differ: 2 vs. 1 "/ I also noticed that when the system first boots after the downgrade, it only generates an RSA key. After a clean v4.16 install, everything works fine. RO...

Re: Where can I get older versions?

It is very good to know that packages are accepted iff they come from a trusted source now. Nice to know that earlier ROS releases verified package integrity too, as no one wants to install a corrupted image on a router.

Thanks for this information.

Re: v5rc6 released

@normis I agree with you, ROS v4 is the stable release right now while v5 is the experimental one. We cannot expect v5 being production-ready yet. Ok, perhaps a "release candidate" is not the place to implement new features, but as noted by Beccara full IPv6 support is not an option anymor...

Re: Where can I get older versions?

Dunno if I want to trust a copy that was just on someone else's site. Prefer official :) if we speak about v4, it contains digital signature in packages, so you cannot install a package if it was modified by somebody This one looks like a great feature not only to protect MikroTik devices against p...

Hi andrijco. Sorry, no access to real hardware yet -- in a few days I will have two RB/750G so will be able to do better testing.
