Re: The popularity of Mikrotik since 2011

I hope that RouterOS v7 will catch up with new technologies now when it as a much more updated kernel.
The irony is that my children are already growing up until ROS v7 sees the light. No matter how it turns out that the future generation will wait for it :)

The popularity of Mikrotik since 2011

Hello everyone. I want to share my observations. Recently, I have been feeling a certain stagnation of the Mikrotik company. This applies to both the release of RouterOS and equipment, as well as the latest news on their website. I decided to check the mentions of Mikrotik in Google Trends. So it is...

CCR2004 performance

In your youtube video https://youtu.be/amIDNuT-mkE?t=570, I drew attention to the CCR2004 load tests.
Why is CCR2004's performance so low ? CPU usage floats from 70% to 90% at 5 Gbps.

Re: CRS 3xx - L3 ASIC performance testing

Regarding small MTU tests (tests #1 and #2), I suppose that the bottleneck is on the packet generator or receiver side , not the CRS317. As you see, PPS (packets per second) value is almost the same in all three cases, and the transfer speed depends purely on packet size. That is a typical case for...

I once studied this question. You cannot balance VPLS using LDP signaling. You need to use BGP signaling and, in my opinion, some scripts. Somewhere on the forum already discussed.

Yes, passing UDP packets is very unstable effect on CCR1036.
For example, now I have 500 Mbit real traffic. If I miss CCR1036 through UDP packets of 64-1000 Byte, then begin the hard packet loss.

ROS 6 is not working correctly bonding balance r-r

Version 6 is not working correctly bonding.
On RB1200 3 interface bonding type balance r-r.
In version 5, an interface equal number of Mbps (eth1 50Mbit, eth2 50Mbit, eth3 50Mbit)
In version 6, the balance r-r does not distribute traffic equally (eth1 20Mbit, eth2 70Mbit, eth3 60Mbit)
Thank you!

Here are preliminary (RouterOS v6 rc) results for the CCR 36 core version. Re: Deny DHCP to issue the same ip

I don't think that is possible to do with a MikroTik. The client will ask for a renewed lease for it's current address at around %50 of the lease timeout, if the address it requests is free, the DHCP server will renew it. The best you might be able to do is delete the DHCP leases table every so oft...

The more rules you add, the more rules need to be checked for each packet. So it depends on the number of packets and the available CPU resources.
