Need a network engineer to help fix some problems

Does anybody here do contracting work? I have various routing/network issues I would like to hire somebody to assist with; now and possibly on an ongoing basis. One problem is I have a fairly large network with about 80 routers, using OSPF, and I am getting random packet loss in chunks to various st...

Can only ping 1 direction, but it gets weirder...

We use OSPF and are having a strange problem where if a path goes down, sometimes it does not re-route correctly and we have to reboot a router on one end of the VPLS tunnel to fix it. I noticed one of our routers, 10.200.0.110 cannot ping 10.200.0.240 (another router). But it works the opposite dir...

Want to run NAT on IP from l2tp bridge

Hello, I have two locations each with a Mikrotik Router Location A has a single static IP (1.2.3.4) address from the ISP and 100x100 connection. Location B has a full /24 subnet and a 100x100 connection The routers are connected with l2tp bridge so I can utilize Location B's full /24 IP addresses at...

EoIP over PPTP seems slow

I setup PPTP server (LOCATION A) at data center with 100x100 connection. PPTP Client (LOCATION B) is connected to 100 x 10 connection. EoIP tunnel is connecting the two locations through the PPTP tunnel, so I can assign devices at Location B IP addresses connected to Location A. It all works ok, but...

Re: 2 VLANS with their own Default Gateway ???

Good. If you look in the routing table you should see routing entries for the various interfaces each marked with the routing-mark corresponding to the VRFs that you created. So I noticed that this only works for me if both Gateway interfaces have DHCP obtained IP's. If I assign 1 or both Gateways ...

Re: 2 VLANS with their own Default Gateway ???

1. Create the relevant VLAN interfaces on Ether 4. 2, Create the relevant DHCP server, Network, IP Pool and IP Address entries for the two VLAN interfaces. 3. The easiest way to achieve the ISP selection is to create 2 VRF entries and place VLAN1 & Ether1 in one VRF and VLAN2 & Ether2 in th...

Re: How to I give some clients a Public IP and some a NAT'd

I added ether1 and ether2 to "bridge1" I can now statically assign clients a public IP and they work fine. HOWEVER now the clients that obtain a DHCP address can no longer browse the Internet. DHCP server still works, just no route to the Internet. As soon as I disable the bridge the DHCP ...

Re: How to I give some clients a Public IP and some a NAT'd

I can only use ether1 and ether2

ether1 is the internet connection
ether2 goes to a large switch, which all devices are connected to. I cannot physically connect the other devices to ether3. Even if I could, I do not want to for the scenario.

Thank you for your help

How do I redirect port 80 to another server, LAN side?

The IP of my Mikrotik router is 192.168.0.1 When someone from inside the LAN browses to 192.168.0.1 I want to redirect them to a http server at 192.168.0.2, but still show 192.168.0.1 as the server IP in the browser. Essentially it is port redirecting inside the LAN, just like port forwarding throug...

I figured it out. Ether-3 and Ether-4 had master port set for "ether1". I switched them both to none and now it works perfectly, no DHCP leakage anymore.
