Re: Stuck Routes on Route Cache

Can you please back port this bug fix to 5.25? We have been fighting this irritating bug for-$&@!ing-ever, and there is no way we can let RC code touch our production network.

Re: Routing a Ring Network with Diversity & Redundancy

How to detect network outages farther then one hop As you can see at attached picture there is no more hops than one. In layer2 you see gateway directly. So there is no need to look farther then one hop. And in this situation router automatically detects outages via arp or via ping (check-gateway=a...

Re: Routing a Ring Network with Diversity & Redundancy

I only show one of possible solutions. I do not say: static way (my way) is better than dynamic. :) I use described static routing in few places and it works without any problems. In biggest case I route this way about 1.5 Gbps of traffic from few thousands of customers. Using it with "gateway=...

Re: Routing a Ring Network with Diversity & Redundancy

I can even imagine setup with static routing only. Therefore you can use masquerading (if needed) and loadbalancing with PCC at village AP stations without complications. I imagine it this way: -prepare two L2 semi-rings (bridged vlans or bridged eoip tunnels or switched vlans or mpls solutions - si...

Re: Stuck Routes on Route Cache

Have the same problem. Two routers. Versions 5.13 & 5.20.
Refresh don`t work.
I`m going to downgrade to version 3.27 and see what happens.
Did you do downgrade? Does it help?
Thanks in advance.

Re: SSH problems on 5.0rc1

What's new in 5.0beta5 (2010-Jul-23 14:50): *) ssh - password authentication is disabled for users with public keys; I do approve of good default settings for security. But give me a chance to think by myself, please. :) First case. I use public-keys from more than one place, and setting key from o...

Re: RANT - Configuration management: .backup is a joke

My question was that if you have a value stored which dictates what file should be run on reset, why (and how) won't that value itself be reset? It is not our problem :). But seriously speaking... there is default configuration script working just now. /system default-configuration print and this d...

Re: RANT - Configuration management: .backup is a joke

auto-after-reset-configuration.rsc Silly question, but wouldn't this value be reset along with the rest of the unit? If not, how does one make sure it is reset if one so desires? Files in /file print menu are not deleted while doing /system reset-configuration so you can store any full or partial &...

Re: RANT - Configuration management: .backup is a joke

Would a "/system reset-configuration file=name.rsc" do what you want? It would reset, and then apply the config in the RSC file so that your CPE could connect to the AP for example. We still dream about this future, Normis! or I have alternative elegant solution. You can simply implement ...
