Re: ROSv7 equivalent of /routing/bgp/advertisements print

This feature seems to be implemented in an improvised way. In the roadmap of RouterOS 7 there's still the goal of providing a command that outputs directly the list of advertised routes, as other profissional vendors support (e.g.: Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Alcatel, Extreme, Arista etc.), right? I do n...

Re: How to remove a sim card from SXT LTE?

Small push on opposite side + tweezers magic ;-)? The other side isn't reachable at all, unless we bend a hard metal piece specifically tailored for this. Tweezers are also a bad option because the chip lays way to close to the greenish "motherboard", close to circuit trails and buttons.

LACP support?
As far as I know, all Routerboards perform LACP on CPU. So no Mikrotik device can provide wirespeed LACP, for instance, 20gbit/s passing through two aggregated 10G SPF+ ports. Gentlemen, am I correct about this or am I missing something?

Re: My ISP is offering IPv6 through DHCP: how can I use it?

The important part is from-pool parameter. If you set it to same pool as DHCPv6 client creates, address will automatically take a prefix from that. That's why the example sets address=::1/64 but ends up with proper 2001:db8:1::1/64.
Oh, now I get it. Thanks! :D

There is no NAT on ipv6, so you cannot nat that single IP you get from ISP, the ISP needs to route a /64 or better range to your router then you can configure that range to the pcs behind the router. Re: Youtube Direct from internet

put the ip addresses of youtube into the nat rules BEFORE the webproxy and masquerade them directly to the internet. Or put a NOT (!) address list in the nat rule for the webproxy with the addresses for youtube. That is quite challenging, because the YouTube IP addresses may change out of the blue ...

Re: Bonding of 3G connections - basics

I've never attempted to bond 3G connections but my concern is the jitter and speed differences between these connections. You will probably use connections from different providors and they will vary in signal strengh and quality. In the router in the other site that is reverting the bound will rece...

Re: Mikrotik VPN Connection

AFAIK, the Winbox autolisting is done at layer2 level. You can achieve this by bridging or EoIP. But you can manually add Mikrotik addresses in the Winbox.

Re: What is the theoretical speed limit for the USB port?

Sure, you can use a 100mbps USB Network Adapter. Then, measure the throughput through that adapter. You will find out the maximum throughput that can go all the way through the router from the USB port.
What a clever idea! That would generate really reliable data. Thanks.

Re: What is the theoretical speed limit for the USB port?

Routerboard uses standard USB 2.0, and the USB 2.0 specifications. The "practical" limit of USB 2.0 is up to 40 MB/sec (or up to around 300 mbps). I'm not sure if the USB 2.0 standard used in the Routerboard actually mean they are capable of reaching the limit of the specification, in tha...

What is the theoretical speed limit for the USB port?

Considering the USB port of models like RB751U-2HnD, I didn't find in the PDFs the theoretical speed limit for the USB port in Routerboards. The reason I am asking it if because of the following concern: using this port for a 3G USB dongle modem or a LTE modem, could the USP port speed limit be a bo...

Feature request: MLPPP server

RouterOS already supports MLPPP as a client but I really think Mikrotik should implement MLPPP server. For those who are unaware of what MLPPP is, from Mikrotik wiki: Multi-Link Point to Point Protocol (MP, Multi-Link PPP, MultiPPP or MLPPP) is a method of splitting, recombining, and sequencing data...

Re: route traffic via desired direction!

Based in your images, both 192.168.1.51 (computer) and 3.3.3.3 are not directly linked to the Mikrotik routers, is that correct? In that case you should do: 1) Install and enable in Mikrotik 1 any VPN server (I will use PPTP as example). 2) Install and enable in Mikrotik 2 any VPN server (for exampl...

Re: Tha most stable and fast tunnel?

Coud anyone give me a glimpse on why EoIP doesn't met the performance of other tunnel methods supported by RouterOS? What is the problem: the Mikrotik implementation or the technology itself has a bottleneck that an implementation cannot improve?

How can I print DNS cache from SSH with full addresses?

Hi, I'm trying to develop a bash script that obtains the /ip dns cache print result and parses the content, but RouterOS doesn't provide me the full addresses when I do this command from SSH: ktk@ktk8:/tmp$ ssh admin@router /ip dns cache print | fgrep akamai admin@router's password: 88 n0g.akamai......

Re: Stuck Routes on Route Cache

Here in Brazil, the biggest IXP in South America (PTT-SP) there is a mailing list in which several users posted they are suffering from the same problem (with different ROS versions) and also complaning support tickets are left unanswered. Some companies migrated to Quagga because of that issue (and...

Re: how to hide the public ip address from network users ?

I'm not saying that this applies to the original poster, but as far as I know, this kind of wish (to hide public IP address) is used by illegal ISPs that just share an residential internet conection from another ISP to its customers. They just purchase a regular ADSL link in downtown and set up a ba...

Re: Can RB1100AHx2 reach 1gbit/s in a single ethernet port?

Thanks for your reply but my question remains: the benchmarks were made using 4 ethernet ports simultaneously. Will I reach 1gbit/s in a single ethernet port, the port that will connect my router to my upstream?

Can RB1100AHx2 reach 1gbit/s in a single ethernet port?

Hi, I'm planing to purchase RB1100AHx2 and put it as a BGP router in a small datacenter. It will receive two upstream links: one of 10mbit/s and another with 1gbit/s. The official benchmarks (in the Routerboard.com page) says this model can reach up to 3gbit/s. But the benchmark was made using 4 eth...
