try to switch to AES instead of TKIP.
No luck. I have tried disabling tkip en enabling aes for both unicast & group ciphers, but i keep getting the same errors...

I can not think of a situation, 3Hgz CPU goes to maximum...
Try running bandwidth-test server on your 3Ghz and see what CPU-usage on that box you get when you connect to it with a bandwidth-test client. 8)

I'm getting this as well on a 2.9.5 system. WinBox still works, but SSH & HTTP access no longer works. SSH gives the above-mentioned error, HTTP times out.

It seems to be memory-related. My memory as reported by WinBox: 124.7 MB total memory, 6 MB free.

Hmm... My CF is at 1.5 million now. This CF was fresh when I installed 2.9.0 on it. I wonder how many writes it will have by the time we reach 2.9.28 ;-)

Well, according to the ChangeLog this problem is solved in 2.9.5. We'll see... 8)

Let's hope my CF will survive a bit longer, now that it already has 1.5 million sector-writes... :?

I'm stumped! For no apparant reason(?) the memory usage has 'reset' itself (without rebooting the whole MT-unit) to its start value (as you can see on the graph)

Hmm, I guess it was (almost) nothing to worry about after all... :?:

Well, I did upgrade to 2.9.4, but the problem persists...
I'm now at 95.2% full. Let's see what happens when it tops out in a couple of hours... :shock:

Well, I've now upgraded to 2.9.4, rebooted and STILL every 5 minutes there are disk writes taking place! Even slightly more than before the upgrade/reboot. Now it is writing 196 sectors each 5 minutes...! :shock:

What else writes to disk, besides logging & graphing...?

Hi all! My installation keeps on writing to disk, even though I have turned off all 'store-on-disk' options with graphing and only log critical evens to disk. Every 5 minutes it writes 184 sectors to disk. And since I'm using a CF, I'm afraid my CF can't handle this forever... :? See also this threa...

I see 2.9.3 is out... But since the ChangeLog doesn't make any mention of a fix for my problem I'm gonna stick with 2.9.2, just to prove that my memory WILL fill up 100% and take down my MT-box... :twisted:

Well, Mikrotik support just told me my graph looks normal, and that I will not run out of memory. I guess we'll know for sure in about 50 hours from now... :?

No, they're not!

They SHOULD be reset with a reboot, but that is not happening on my system. RouterOS IS storing them on my disk, even though it is not supposed to... :(

Hi all!

I have turned off 'store on disk' in Tools -> Graphing -> Interface Rules, but my graphs still survive a reboot!
Doesn't that mean that they're writing to disk anyway? Hmm, that can't be good for my poor CF... :?

There seems to be a memory leak in 2.9.2.

I upgraded on friday, and after that memory use has been rising and rising... I wonder whether it will level off, or just crash when all memory is in use...? 8)

As soon as I change a mangle rule from 'Packet mark' to 'Accept' or 'Passthrough' and use the left-most tab to indicate the marking instead, the packet throughput of that rule drops to 0...

So you're saying that the global parent queues don't work, but the individual interface parent queues do work? Hmm... Not quite the way it should be, but at least it would enable me to do SOME queueing... I'll try it out as soon as I'm home! :-)

what does not work exactly ?
The mangling works fine it seems (I can see the various mangles counting packets/bytes). However, in the Queues they are not 'seeing' any traffic, and therefor not doing any shaping.
The rules worked fine on a 2.8 system, so they should function on a 2.9 as well, right?

Hi all!

Are there any knows problems with Mangling/queueing in 2.9? I have quite a few mangle rules, all of which seem to do their packet/bytes counting correctly.
However, when I try to use these in the queue tree, most of them show no traffic at all, even when the mangle rule counters keep going...

Now that 2.9 is no longer beta, is it perhaps a good idea to rename this forum to 'version 2.9' or something?

No needed 8) The problem has been isolated to moving from the 'run at start/runasdaemon:yes' setting to 'run every 5 mins via cron/runasdaemon:no' setting. This because of the changing config file. it does not make sense to have different user databases on radius'es within the same realm. Well... 8) In my case it does. We have a system with a local RADIUS server for people who want to use their prepaid cards for Internet access. But we also have customers who should have access to our system ...

So if I want with RADIUS2 in case RADIUS1 doesn't have the user in the database (the system here would be contacting different RADIUS servers with different databases), then this is not possible with Mikrotik?

No. We normally have 5000-7000 connections. 15000 on occasion.

BTW, who has gotten quick-r to work 100% with FreeRadius/Mikrotik? I'm having some trouble getting the authentication to function the way it should. Quick-R uses %w, but Freeradius doesn't... :?

Somehow I'd gotten the notion in my head that clients contact apache on port 80, and that apache would send back on another, random port. Got no idea where I got that from... :?

Yup, expect 5.37.1 & tcl 8.4.6 are present. Commenting out the log_user parameter does give the right(?) output, with

Thanks! That does the trick! The bad boy at that IP address was driving my NTP server crazy, somehow getting it to transmit a LOT of data back, clogging up the upload of my ADSL...

Hmm, I now have 1 unit on which it works.

The only difference:

non-working units: RouterOS 2.8.5
working unit: RouterOS 2.8.11


Is there somewhere a (detailed) ChangeLog of RouterOS available...?

I've used your example for both port 25 & 80, but as far as I can see no traffic is arriving on those ports at 192.168.24.140... :cry:

But then why doesn't the following work?
snmpget -v 1 -c [COMMUNITY_STRING] [IP_ADDRESS] .1.3.6.1.4.1.14988.1.1.1.1.1.4.4
snmpwalk does work on those devices...

Wouldn't that prevent that local server from sending SMTP out?
(if all SMTP is redirected to 192.168.24.140, wouldn't that have 192.168.24.140 send all outgoing email to itself, instead of the correct destination?)
