Re: Web access map refreshing question

Okay, this just prompted more questions. 1) What are all the links in the white squares, as I don't get that on my interface v3.b8 (local to server) 2) Webserver in Las Vegas; Dude in Florida Not sure of proper setup for export to webserver 3) The ability to use a map background with the label over ...

Publish Network Status to a web page.

I did a search and didn't find even one reference. I am new to the dude when it comes to more than just a ping of WAN's. I am wondering if there is some way to take the Status of a Device and have it be shown on a webpage. I see an export feature for images, but it doesn't seem to have any type of t...

Re: log says: login failure from user abcde from 222.xxx.xxx f

Just a quick question, is there a way to drop the CLI commands into winbox (I assume not). I am very bad at CLI as I am unable to think in text, I am very much object oriented. Which makes translating the CLI that everyone is posting into the proper action through WinBox a bit difficult. Example: I ...

Okay, I took a closer look at what you are doing, the idea is good, and now I understand the problem, unfortunately now the routing is over my head...

Re: hotspot bandwidth limiting

Sorry to jump in, but I was searching the forums on how to build a dynamic tx/rx that would give each user a bandwidth limit based on total users against data line bandwidth level. Meaning, the data line is 7mbps / 512 mbps so if there are two users the the rate limit would be 3.5mbps / 256 kbps and...

Re: Hotspot - How can I show a login page

Sorry, I don't use the CLI as I can't follow it very well, and my typing is the number one reason I never get anything to work... but in regards to the Hotspot, if you run the set up from the 2.9.38 and higher routerOS (I am not familiar with the 3.x.x yet so it may have changed) then it will set up...

Re: Not good with routing... Novice to RouterOS Routing power.

That is exactly what I am trying to do, I did use Buffalo AP's with DD-WRT and chillispot but now the Retired Vacationers are using Skype and trying to watch TV shows from our major TV stations so I am moving to Mikrotik to handle the load better. Also we went from only 10 concurrent user in a 200 l...

Re: At what level can RouterOS manage an ethernet connected AP?

Thank you for your response. I decided to put the Wrap 1-E1 with an EMP-8602 for the WIFI and an RB R52 for a backhaul, now I just have to figure out how to set up the Remote location with the backhaul on 802.11a, and I am assuming that I either set up another Hotspot on the Remote location or do so...

Re: Not good with routing... Novice to RouterOS Routing power.

To answer your question, I am in Florida, USA which is lightning capitol of the world it seems. We loose AP's 1-2 times a year in some locations, but we are usually safe. I suppose just letting the RB do both is the best way to handle it, also I want to extend the range to two remote locations, so I...

Re: Hotspot - How can I show a login page

When using WinBox 2.2.13 1) Check that you have set up the Hotspot on the wlan1(default interface name) connection. IP>hotspot>Server 2) Double check the Address Pool against the IP you have when on the wireless. 3) Check HotSpot Profile (not always the one called default) for proper login authentic...

Not good with routing... Novice to RouterOS Routing power.

I am just wondering what can I actually control (Wireless Laptop Clients) connecting to an AP (EOC-3220 by EngeniusTech) when it is connect to the RB/532 with and Ethernet Cable. I realize that I can Hotspot the interface that is ethernet cabled to the AP. I am just wondering if I would have any con...

At what level can RouterOS manage an ethernet connected AP?

I am used to using RB/532a with an EMP-8602 for indoor or small outdoor area Hotspotting. I am wondering if I can use an RB/532a without the EMP-8602 installed, and use an EngeniusTech EOC-3220 EXT as the AP and still have Radio access control. I know that I can HotSpot the Interface with the Ehtern...

Re: Hotspot/Roaming/WDS/Mesh

Hmmm... Not sure why you are doing this way. Why are you not using a Mikrotik Controller at the Data Source and then letting it control your users, then your AP's only have to work with the client connection and back haul? That way the controller would handle the DHCP and the Authentication and the ...
