I used Winbox to transfer the files. It's really weird becase the same files I transfered worked great on another box I upgraded. Let me ask a dumb question. I've got a 2.9.42 install disk. If I export the key couldn't I just reformat the drive and then import the old key? This thing has been acting...

Adding a NIC

I'm having problems adding a new NIC to my router. It's a Linksys 1 GB newtork adapter. It shows up under resources but not under interfaces. I have a driver disk that came with the card but don't have a clue as to how add it. When I look in the driver section there is not one for the Linksys card. ...

WinBox error

I've got a strange problem. From one computer I can log on with no problem. With another computer I get:
could not get roteros.dll: no reply!
error on a new MT box. Both are computers are running the same version on WinBox. I can telnet to it just fine.
Any Ideas?

Hey thanks,
I got it now. It was a bad jump in a service chain or should I say a forgotten jump. I do have a follow up question on the service ports. How do you add a service ports? We use DameWare and it's host port is 6129 with callback port of 6132. I can't get it to complet the socket.

Thanks!

I'm having a problem allowing clients to go to FTP sites.
It works fine if you put in FTP://username:password@url.com
but it doesn't work if you go to say ftp://ftp.microsoft.com

Are you using to ethernet cards? If so you might try masquerading both networks. I'm not an expert!!!! I'm doing something like that. My ISP comes in on ether 1 and my local net is on ether 2. I masqueraded both and it worked. Try it and if it doesn't work you can undo it. Perhaps someone with more ...

Whats the best way to redirect a link and not have it go lookin outside of your own LAN. In other words you enter the IP of the server from any place in the world and it gives you the logon screen. Easy to do

There are several ways you can do this depending on how you set your system up. The fastest way is if your running web proxy. Deny access to these sites by URL. The draw back is this is a complete block and will allow no one to them unless you add their IP to the access list. 2nd way is to build a l...
