Re: Decline of Mikrotik?

Just a little note, you do also got to have reasonable expectations of features. Shure its bad a few of the bugs in ROS but I would not expect to use a CHR, CCR or anything mikrotik to be able to do the same as the ASR 9000s we use in our network. Use the right product at the right place in the netw...

Re: Wireless product max distance

One thing with the QRT vs DD, the QRT has a better antenna mount.

But would love a LHG with ac support as a cpe.

Look at the supermicro mini itx boards, they support 12v and has low idle power usage.

Re: CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+PC

Now with the new units it looks like they are ready to be used with a -48v DC environment as-well ? It had been great if the new units could have some real screw terminals for power and not just the dc adapter input.

They had been great for us at least if they had that.

Re: RB711HnD POE

No problem using the gb poe adapter. We only use that and not the standard one as it has an integrated LED so the customer can see if the power adapter is broken.

Re: OmniTik UPA: Observations & Issues

install 5.21, then upgrade poe firmware (now it should read 2 beta or something). Then upgrade to 5.24 and upgrade the poe fw again.

I had to do that to mine omnitik upas atleast.

Re: can RB1100AHx2 support 500 clients?

I have one running with simple queues, user manager (with disabled accounting), firewall, dynamic mangle rules, bridge filters and around 300-350 pppoe wisp users.

Uses up to around 45% cpu, around 40-45MBit usage

Re: SFP module

Dualrate BiDi modules, and really hope the SFP slot accepts dualrate modules as we might use the board as a FTB solution where we have some 100mbit and some 1000mbit connections from our CO routers

Re: RB1000 in cluster/ha setup

From the VRRP docs: VRRP does not currently work on VLAN interfaces, as it is impossible to have the MAC address of a VLAN interface different from the MAC address of the physical interface it is put on. So I guess that it will not work since I need 20-30 vlan interfaces Does anyone know if there is...

RB1000 in cluster/ha setup

Hi, Is it possible to configure two RB1000s in a cluster setup either active/active or active/passive ? So that I can have both running at all times and if a power failure or some cable is disconnected on one of the router the other one will take over automatically ? It will be used with a simple fi...

How can I create a fast PtP link using 2xR52's pr RB433

Hi,

I am using two RB433s here at home connecting to parts of my home, each has 2 x R52 radios. Do anyone have a guide on what I should do to get the most speed possible out of this link ?
