I've searched the Forum (for couple of hours) and did not find anything that could help me accomplish next: I have several Mikrotik devices using private IP addresses (in my local network) and I wish to send NetFlow(s) from all those devices to a remote server. Whatever I do/ whichever PoE I use, things are as they are ... + on orange pair ... if I put 12V - I get 12V; 24 - there's 24 :(

on RB133 (ok, it's slow and old, but there is a support and 6rcxx download for it) since rc6 (from rc7 to rc13 all the same) lan throughput wont pass 10Mbps (cpu goes to 100% and, usualy, mt reboots) ... with 5.24 and 6rc6 it goes to some 30Mbps while CPU not at 100% .... :?

Is it smart to "place" a gateway Mikrotik (around 200 users, mostly wifi, alltogether 50Mbps peek) as a virtual device in ESXi server? I did some test; with several queues, filter rules and few mangles, and around 160Mbps traffic CPU(s) go up to 50-60% ... Does anyone have some more experi...

Solution 1:

Make EoIP tunels from each MT to the "master" :) and put PPPoE server there...... It works, but still can't make public IPs to work ....

It takes a few packets to recognise P2P , so if you try and mark it and send it any other way , it won't perform so well
well... guess that's right. And what if we send ALL packets other then some known to specific gateway??? huh... keep trying :?

Yes, but there are many other ports needed (msn video, custom VPN, ....). Actually the system is working pretty good: all P2P is routed to default gateway where it is queued and all other traffic (known) is directed to other connections. I connected 532 via POE with utp cable almost 50 meters and it works nice.
Then I connected it to a standard UPS (800VA), also adding a ADSL modem's adapter ... UPS won't work at all - when main power fails (I pull the plug:)) UPS powers off imediately...

? Suggestions ?

Look in the usermanager status page - probably there are some sessions still active. Nope, there are no active sessions and UM says there are 6 active users (which are disabled!!)... There must be something wrong with UM - it worked for few days "like a clock" than I added second wireles ...

I don't think that burst for 240 sec is the real burst :) Bursts are nice for web-browsing, when user opens a web page, it longs 10s (probably 15-20 s), but not 4 minutes. ... You are right, but, experimenting with numbers i came to this as a nice one... and, as manual sais, MT measures burst at ti...

I get "... user _username_ authentication failed (6)" error, and I know that I'm using the right password...

Meanwhile, I use PPP/Secrets (works nice) for my users to log into...

Hi all, this is a strange problem I have - tryed to find something like it on forum, but couldn't : I had a MT with 1 wireless adapter in it and 1 LAN connected to my router (to Internet). Users were logging via PPPoE succesfully until I added another wireless addapter ... If I "put" users...

One of my users has a problem that Trillian (MSN, ICQ, ...) gets disconnected for a sec. and connected again while on PPPoE connection... Still, pppoe stays connected, no problem... Other users doesn't have that prob...
