Hi, Any update regarding support of new intel ethernet cards like intel i210AT ? Populer on many embedded board and firewall barebones ? We're already send ticket id and autosuport file but not respond. /system resource pci> print # DEVICE VENDOR NAME IRQ 0 12:00.0 Intel Corporation unknown device (...
Anyone from MT can give enlightenment in this matter ?
Are mikrotik plan to release RB911G-5HPacD in board only form factor or Not ?
This information vital to us, in order to make decision about are we still using mikrotik product
or maybe go to competitor (powerbeam) approach.
See rb921 and rb922. http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=86816#p436021 If you have case completely accurate for rb911 - there is additionally SFP slot Hi, its http://forum.mikrotik.com/download/file.php?id=17522 Seems fit the bill. Hope mikrotik released it as board only. Hope like se...
You need : 150km A ---------------------------- B Either you buy prepackaged DWDM solution like from infinera, fujitsu, nec, etc2, that had coherent optic and repeaterless solution. Or : 80km OADM 70km (A) MUX/DEMUX---------------- (C) -------------- MUX/DEMUX (B) Put some repeater site at site C an...
normis, but what do you say about my findings? could you test if this problem effects AP, Client or Both. Could you test in which cases you have problems? 1. AP v5.14, Client v6.1 2. AP v6.1, Client v5.14 3. AP v6.1, Client v6.1 Then tell us in which of those three cases the nstreme is working fine...
Hello gustkiller, I absolutely trust your words and for sure if BGP is one of your core or edge company pillars the BGP cache issue is really important for you, perhaps so much that you are beginning to buy network equipment from other vendors this is not the point I was wondering, but please be fa...
Hi, Can anyone offer some simple suggestions for routing the attached scenario. At present I have a fully routed network and in the next few days I am about to close the "ring" by completing the last hop from 1 village across to another. From then on, each village (AP) will have a choice ...
No news about the BGP route cache bug fix ? Sadly thinking in drop my CCR order, and get back to my linux box if can't get Mikrotik do the job. Any advice on this ? It is issues like this that show the true cost of running Mikrotik routers. This issue has existed in all 5.x releases and is in core ...
All 3.x was stable on multi-core, only it was necessary to "/system hardware set multi-cpu=no" :) Why would you Post that. That kind of attitude is why it took over a F@#$%$g year to find the Problem with hotspot, if you had been Following this thread you would know that setting "mul...
Still Not stable as 3.26 X86 Final Release. We had router restarting with multi-cpu enabled. This router only used as l2tp concentrator and one rule of mangle (TCP SYN), using ppp static secret entries. We had send the supout to mikrotik. Got : [Ticket#2009071766000085] Hw Configuration : - Intel Se...
Bug in 3.16 with wireless.test (X86) bug in P4 hw : 1. system clock is 10 times faster than normal Bug in wireless (XR5 & XR5) 1. Compression doesn't work, cannot connect in station-wds and bridge mode if compression is enabled. 2. Erratic troughput. Goes from 33 Mbps, to 8 mbps, back to 30 mbps...
frame-lifetime - how long to keep the packet (in cent seconds) for retransmition after the first trasmit attempt. 0 means unlimited (until the client disconnection). noise immunity - atheros hardware supports that so we just added this feature. Dear MT Rep, We would like to see advanced WMM configuration is available for us to configure and change. Its config like : CWmin - Minimum Contention Window. This parameter is input to the algorithm that determines the initial random backoff wait time ("window") for retry of a transmissio...
The 8602 is unmitigated, unrelenting, unreliable crap. It doesn't like cold, doesn't like work, doesn't like even the most minimial ESD. It is a pathetic excuse for a wireless card. If you ask nicely, I'll tell you how I REALLY feel about it. We had to pull about 60 back out of the field so ...
Dear Normunds, No new CSMA/CA related feature listed in Changelog.. Do CSMA/CA disabled feature unchanged from beta-3 ? If we're not mistaken, in previous post you say, you would implement new option in this beta (beta-4) ? Are that cancelled ? PS : How about restart bug ? Its also doesn't mentioned...
we have not yet seen a supout.rif with 3 CPUs showing, csickles ... as far as I have seen, it always reports correctly. If linux shows incorrectly, it's even better for us :) You have 2 CPUs and that's a fact, so it shows 2 CPUs Dear Normis, Have any news regarding BETA-4 ETA ? High Regards, Andrei
nstreme is not just about more bandwidth. it also does all of the things you are talking about in this topic. and about multiple nstreme2 links in one box - why not? Normis, in 2.9.x we found that nstreme doesn't help for colocate many ap / sector. Your solutions is okay for backhaul (need test tho...
Give us more details on how nstreme works, and we can tell you if it's the same. *g* If you have a Routerboard with 4 radio interfaces for 4 backhaul links running nstreme ptp, does it kind of "synchronise"? seandsl -- NO. We found from real life experience. Even if we spacing the channel...
think interference  from your interfaces Its, why we need synchronization in transmit , receive. Thinks, why Canopy could be used in array, located in adjacent space ? Answer ??? AP TX syncronization, they always transmit in the same time, and always receive in the same time. So no self gener...
why do you think that this is something advanced and needed? Simple, Usable frequency are not something that infinite. Yes, frequency is nearly infinite, if you could tap to hundreds GHz freq, but its costly and have many drawbacks. IF we need more sectors / tower than avaiable frequency (, like wh...
New Bug Report for Beta-3 : I'm cannot restart router reliably, sometimes it can, and sometimes its cannot ? :) High Regards, Andrei What hardware? Any console messages? WRAP-2C, Bios V1.11 I've tried with demo licensed and l4 ones. Same result, even with different board. No, strange console messag...

Not yet. Probably it will be in the next version. how about accessing the wireless menu in winbox from windows XP? I've got 4 different computers it crashes on the instant I select wireless, interface -> wlan1 works, but not the wireless button on the left. I tried it under Windows Vista, works fin...
Well some of the whitepapers did the following: Disable CSMA/CA Disable ACK timeouts Disable Retries (only if NStreme does that already) Shorten the inter-frame spacing / random backoff <-- No they disabled completedly the CSMA random backoff. Some of them actually had their own MAC layer - like So...
We added one more setting for this feature in the next beta (4), but there is nothing more to do. Please supply all further reports with some kind of test results, mystical whitepapers are not proving anything. Dear Normis, Could you elaborate more, what's new setting we could expect in beta-4 in c...
in theory, when there is so much noise, nothing can force the other end to receive clean data. it just is not possible, no matter what you do on your end. the interference will just be too high. Dear Normis, Seems many whitepaper circulating on the Net says the contrary to you. They said, and have ...
what did you expect, wonderbutton :) ? we just added the requested feature, it does what it is supposed to do. nobody knew what effect it would have Yes, it does. The theory says so, and we tried other products with similar feature "CSMA/CA disable" (that using atheros too), seems have co...
Here is the link to the changelog: http://www.mikrotik.com/download/CHANGELOG_beta Note, that if you downgrade from beta version to the 2.9 version then you should check your DST-NAT rules - they might be changed. This only applies to the downgrade - upgrade will work fine. You can create a backup ...
when I go to the status tab on wlan1, it shows the ACK timeout as 50us, in all previous versions of NStream, it was set to 25us... I am also seeing high ping times across the link, regardless of frequency or interferance, minumum ping times seem to be 8ms, averageing around 30ms... has anyone else ...
did some outdoor testing last night, I'll post details and some screen shots later today when I get them up, but there was a noticable difference in the throughput on 2.4 when CSMA was disabled. didn't necessarly get any higher throughput, but our average throughput was much better and there was fe...
these are 112's, they don't have the CPU power to push 20mbps, No they do, in others realms, using 5XLI, we could push 20-22 Mbps. Same CPU, different flash. and this was indoors in a small brick walled room, the multipathing is so bad in the room, bluetooth headsets do hardly not work on cell phon...
did some quick testing last night (indoors).... results not very encouraging. I think something is messed up in the main NStream system, so we can't really tell if the CSMA backoff is working or not. tests were ran with 2 112's, v3b2, SR2 radios with power set to 13dbm (I was indoors, with 11dBi om...
We tryed this CSMA/CA backoff option tonight in production I suspect to see any real improvments, you will need it turned on at both the AP and the CPE, otherwise, I would imagine it may actually cause problems... I will be testing over the weekend, I'll post results when I have them. Normis, can y...
I have read (on this forum) that the r52 does indeed listen on 5/10mhz channels and cm9 ill only listen on 20mhz. I cannot say for sure vut I have read it a few times. It would be best if teh Manuafacture jump in and answer? I can't speak for R52, but i can speak for CM9. CM9 (and all AR-5213) coul...
We tryed this CSMA/CA backoff option tonight in production :-) it was on a RB532 with 15 users. And it gave us litel improvment but i dont know if u have to have it on both AP and CPE ? we had it only on AP side... My guess, is the option needed in both side of the link. The big problem was that it...
Gotnet, Could you tested it for us ? In some places that's very much noise ? I can't yet tested it, i would test the feature my self soon. We think we (other users that can't yet testing for ourself is curious what's the difference when the feature is on / off) ? Thank's a lot.. High Regards, Andrei
Might be getting somewhere. Did an upgrade on a WRAP to beta2 with two AR5211 cards. We use no-radar-detect on the AP side. Despite the band set at 2.4, the frequency gets set to 917MHz (tri-band card anyone?). Turning off DFS fixes that one. Do you try no CSMA/CA backoff option ? High Regards, And...
GotNet, make sure you are using correct baud-rate settings for Terminal program or better try MAC-Winbox to access the router. Nope, both beta one and two brick my 112s. No winbox, no terminal. Beta1 would at least route data; beta2 won't. My startup script that does some LED stuff doesn't run eith...

In next Beta you will be able to turn on/off the wireless carrier detection (CSMA), which will apparently solve the subj. problem that was much discussed earlier. This will be ONLY for NSTREME and of course, test at your own risk. Good Jobs, and My thanks :-) By the way, which side that csma/ca cou...
Were there any changes to the wireless drivers? Previous discussions indicated a new driver that would increase performance alot? Any plan to incorporate new polling scheme that would increase MT resilience to interference ? By using new mac protocol that disable random backoff option ? High Regard...
I am having problem with a PtP link, each end is is using 24dBi Grids signal strength is -74 on both tx/rx, ping time is decent around 8 ms. I am currently using 10 mhz channels witht the radio locked to 24Mbps Speed is jumping around alot, sometimes I get 4.4 Mbps TCP, other times I only get 400 k...
