Is there a archive of previous versions example where is v5.9 now , it’s a long way back from 5.14 to 4.17 as listed in downloads
try to change the download url, where is written the actual version, change it
with the version you want to download. For example in the download url where
is written 5.14 change it to 5.9
if you don’t use v5.14 (or whatever is the latest), you will not get any support and even on the forum you won’t get any real assistance. We release versions for a good reason.
Many thanks
Point taken but not sure about …even on the forum you won’t get any real assistance there is a lot users on the forum who try to help
Yeah, and “try to upgrade” is one of the most common suggestions
I tired to get 5.11 so I could just get NTP but Mikrotik seems to have locked out access to the older versions
What is wrong with the current NTP package?
For whatever reason if a current version causes some issue with your network, Mikrotik should have a archive of previous versions for users to downgrade as fallback until the issue is resolved, sometimes even testing a new version before using it live does not show a issue. I have adapted the approach of downloading current versions and testing plus reading exactly what the updates are with cheching the forum for users feedback, if there is a low negative feedback with positives then I upgrade sections of my network but not all and monitor
I don’t accept that “newer is always better” until it proves to be?
You can now use the new Partitioning feature. Upgrade only a test partition, if it fails, fallback to your main partition.
Does this feature work like a boot loader where you can deside which partition to boot from?
When you mark a partition as active, the next time that router reboots, it will boot on the marked partition as active.
It should boot to the next partition anyway, if the first one becomes faulty and the router can not boot at it.
yes, you can also select your partition from the RouterBOOT menu
How can I can now download PPC version of 5.20, I have Mipsbe version but now with RB1100 it requires the ppc version,
My plan is to first have 6.1 on the rb1100 but should this give any issues I want to be able very quickly downgrade to Ver5.20 which is working OK for network -
No doubt with murphys law - when you have plan B in place - nothing goes wrong with plan A?
I tried changing current version links but it does not work back to 5.20, 5.21-5.22-5.23-5.24 works ?
