Chateau LTE12 poor bandwidth

UPDATE - it is poorly described. With queues and firewall filters, max 200Mbps. Everything default + fasttrack 320Mbps

Anyone tried bandwidth test for Chateau, please?

I have got CATV Internet up to 500Mbps but I cannot get over 25MBs (200Mbps) with queues and some filtering. Using fasttrack pushes it to 40MBs (320Mbps) with almost default setting. It looks like that is limit.

Only one core is always 80-100%…average per CPU max. 30%

Post your configuration

default config, just WAN interface changed

Default doesn’t have queues

At that platform your 500Mbps via Ethernet shouldbe no problem. Connect a wired to your catv modem and test then.
Remember very often ISP give you full speed only to some servers inside his “zone” and when he must send you via his IX then you can reach a limitation.
You can try for testing use RB without NAT, to work as bridge.
You can try use public btest from this forum, I help you, they are:
tool bandwidth-test address=87.121.0.45 user=neterra password=neterra protocol=tcp direction=both ;
tool bandwidth-test address=207.32.194.24 user=btest password=btest protocol=tcp direction=both ;
tool bandwidth-test address=38.104.52.187 user=btest password=btest protocol=tcp direction=both ;
You can always setup 2 pc and between Chateau and test the speed via him.

and good luck

From the original post it seems there is plenty of non-default config, like Queues. Please post the config.

I have poorly decribed issue…updated original post.

I tried direct connection to CATV router. I have got up to 50MBs (400Mbps).

I will try to play with with CATV router and try direct connection…there is two times NAT and who knows what is setting of CATV router (I left it default as a technician installed it).

I guess without fasttrack and filtering I wouldn’t be able to use whole 1Gb ethernet ports anyway.

So, ISP cable in port1, your PC directly connected to port2. Default config. You open speedtest.net and get 320mbit. Correct?
If you mean WiFI, I suggest experimenting with Ethernet, to see if limit is in the config/resources, or the WiFi environment.

This is what I got with Chateau and Ether1/Ether2 default config.

I like that answers. I wait for Chateau with m.2 slot and a full new line of sxtr/lhgr/ldfr :slight_smile:

theoretical tests - main issue with my ISP :smiley: It reminds me 2000 when we built Internet and offered people theoretical tests where first 30 seconds are max. burst speed ROFL.

I have complained about real speeds to my ISP because no matter what server I use, no matter where (even local Swiss servers) - I cannot get over 25MBs (200Mbps) despite speednet. With fasttrack I get over 30MBs (240Mbps).

Reply from ISP “we cannot control remote servers and speednet test is the only ‘real’ speed” ROFL

Now, I have tried speednet test and I get 480/49Mbps…almost max. official speed.

It makes me wonder why downloading anything from anywhere on Internet always goes down…even over night when is no traffic or connectivity sharing.

I tried test from my VPS in Germany…downloading Debian ISO DVD from Swiss server…home connection 200Mbps (should be up to 500Mbps)…VPS average 110MBs(880Mbps) on 1Gbps “garanted” line.

It makes me wonder where is problem. I suggested ISP they have some issue or QoS on thgeir routers…they claim, everything is ok.

Wondering doesn’t help much. Facts and analysis do.
