Completely disable switch feature

Hello,

Not sure if this is a beginner question or not… but I have a CCR and I need to completely disable the switch features; I want to use it so each port is completely independent.

I have removed all ports from the “master” port… but they all still show “switch1” in the interface.

Can I completely disable the switch somehow?? It seems like the ports are still somehow tied to the switch-cpu or something, and it appears that I cant use all of the features of RouterOS that I want when the ports are part of the switch.

Thanks!

Setting the master-port to “none” for each port is enough to make them independent from software point. Looking from a hardware point - these ports still share bandwidth to the CPU.
“Switch1” in interface settings is just a reminder to know whether the port belongs to any switch chip.

the only ccr with switch feature is ccr1009 if you need more interfaces directly to cpu go for ccr1016 or better

its a good practice to check block diagrams before buy to know important specifics about device architecture

I messed up in my original post… I have the CRS not the CCR.

So there is no downside to having the ports connected to Switch1 ?

I noticed I couldnt choose Tx/Rx limits on these ports, and from researching it seemed like that was because they were going through the switch.

If I’m understanding correctly, on the CRS there is no way for the ports to not be connected to the switch-cpu :frowning:
