L2TP CHAP Authentication Response

I am in the middle of testing L2TP tunnel between Router OS 4.3 with our service providers Juniper router. The sequence is as follows:

  1. Juniper send SCCRQ message which includes a challenge AVP.
  2. The MT responds with a SCCRP with response.
  3. The Juniper responds with Stop CCN message and thus terminating the L2TP setup process. The error message is “tunnel receive SCCRP AVP missing challenge response”.

My inference, MT did not include challenge response AVP in the SCCRP response.

Have folk come across this in the past and any suggestions of how to enable MT to include the challenge response in the SCCRP response.

I know this is an old thread, but I’m also wondering if there is an update as I need to use an L2TP tunnel with a preshared key to connect to a Juniper device at my provider.
