I original had hap ac2 but as moved to bigger appartment I bought additional wi-fi access point cap ac.
When I started setting it in capsman(I had no expirience with it) and made a mistake I decided to reset it,
Now I don’t see it in winbow nor does it create a wifi network to enter configuration.
Is it no longer accessible or I miss something?
With default settings you won’t see it in neighbors through ether1, but it should broadcast as an open access-point. If reset through button does not help, you can always use Netinstall to thoroughly reintsall your cAP.

As indicated.
3th option: put the cable in ether2, then you may see it again in Winbox.
(I am not 100% sure port2 is default part of LAN but I think it is).
Yes, ether2 is LAN and eht1 is WAN with default settings
What I normally do is use ether2, as a NON-bridge emergency access.
If the CAPAC is physically accessible easily, no more needs to be done.
IF the CAPAC will not be easily physically accessible, run an ethernet cable from ether 2, to a location you can reasonably access.
Then do the following steps.
- Ensure ether2 is not on the bridge
- Assign ether2 a unique name : ether2emerg-access
- Assign an IP address to ether2 192.168.5.2 (network 192.168.5.0)
- Ensure ether2emerg-access is part of the LAN or MGMT interface (whatever interface you have set for winboxmacserver!!
- Ensure ether2emerg-access has access to the router (as per the admin setup on the input chain).
Then whenever you run into configuration problems you can always access the router separate from the bridge by plugging a laptop into ether2 and assigning the laptop an IP address of
lets say 192.168.5.5
System reset-configuration caps-mode=yes
My cap controller Is set for create enable.
So if I screw up a CAP… I have to delete it from interfaces and remote cap. The unit will repopulate in a few seconds.
But then I have to contend with 2014 radio performance.
